ive saed my game after getting 1bil but no achievement, any ideas?

maybe clear the cache on your hdd? The cheevos in this game are buggy

You should add that you need to be connected to the ea servers when you hit 1 bil.

Man the helicopter is a pain in the ass to pilot with the crate's under it!!

are the servers still on? I seem to remember them being off last time I played.

I got it by logging in to EA servers and it still wouldn't unlock so i went to a faction bought something for $100k and then found a cash bundle extracted it then it popped :]

why when my bet increased to 10 million it only gave me 1 million per win?

just wondering if ur min is glitched and only giving u 1 mill at a time even though it says 11 mill is there anything you can do to fix it? or do u have to start over?

! Billion. No Achievement. Saved. Cleared Cache. Tried Online, Offline, up-side down, inside out. No Achievement. WTF. Unobtainable.

What does your current bank account say money wise. Could you write the complete figure please?

Problem solved. "NuckChorris8" commented that you must be successfully connected to the EA Server for the achievement to work. Was able to connect today. Entered the game, saved, and got the achievement straight away.

So yeah... YOU MUST BE CONNECTED TO EA SERVER WHEN YOU SAVE THE GAME.

If only I could connect to the EA servers, I would get this and the OG 1 million achievements.

Because it is not exclusively an online achievement. You can earn this offline as well.

I couldn't earn it offline. I had to save while connected Online in order to earn this. PS3 Trophy description states you must be connected to EA Servers

Interesting. Maybe needs to upload to leaderboards as I can't see another reason to not get the achievement once you hit the billion offline and save.

How long does it take to get this achievement following this method? I just realized this was online only so now I need to get going on this one.

None of these guides explain how to get the challenge. I don't have this challenge.

EDIT: It's about 1-2 hours in, once you unlock the PMC HQ you go out and do a few missions for another faction. You return a hostage to their HQ and then unlock the helicopter pilot for your own PMC HQ.

This achievement from a fresh save will take about 5 hours. This achievement goes exponentially faster once you hit 100M cash.

Just have to recruit the helicopter pilot Whats a Chundy, very early in the game.

You can actually use any helicopter in the game, but the bigger is easier to steer with the crates under.

Yep, once my min bet for this hit over 10 million, it only gives me 1 million once I win. So maybe this was patched and removed at some point?

This will take forever to hit 1 billion then without this methold...

Edit: OK, after playing again today, it's fixed. Once it hits 10 million for the minimum bet, just start the challenge without ever looking at the wager. Seems looking at the wager once it hits 10 million minimum, may cause this glitch.

Well there is an achievement for recruiting the pilot, it's a very obvious part of the game.

It's storyline related and everything.

I read that guide. The problem is that there isn’t anything on here saying exactly when you receive Ewan and how deep in the game you’ll be. When starting a game sometimes you read up first on certain things. Although it is essentially a obvious part, it’s not when you haven’t started.

Perfect solution. Absolutely perfect. Went from $12M (game save) to $1B in about 2 hours.

This method works great!

I have 1 Billion dollars, but the achievement is not unlocking. I already cleared my system cache, rebooted the game, and completed another challenge. It still did not unlock :(

Servers went down a few hours ago sadly, so I think both money achievements are discontinued now.

Of all the versions posted here, this is the fastest and most reliable method to grind out the winching challenges and score the billion dollar achievement. A couple notes though.

1) You may release the toolbox from any altitude you wish, provided that you can slip right far enough to cause the glitch that stops the toolbox in free fall above the target altitude. I was releasing at 70m while still climbing, and the upward momentum of the tool box took it as high as 115m before beginning its fall (and typically stopping between 40 and 80m.) You neednt spend the extra time going higher than that.

2) The minimum wager will always be 5% of your characters total. This is why every wager above the 100M mark will net a bigger payout. It is important to leave the wager amount alone once you climb above 100M or you'll end up resetting the wager to 5M instead of the 5% floor. As Bizarro13 mentions in the comment above mine, your payouts will grow quickly over time and will speed up the process considerably. It took me much longer to get from 100M to 200M (about 16 turns) than it took to go from 500M to 1B (14 turns), simply because 5% becomes a significant amount later down the line.

3) Using the above solution, you can count on about 1 minute per challenge... 30 seconds of load screens; 10 seconds to run to the helicopter; 10 seconds to position yourself over the toolbox with deployed winch, and another 10 seconds to climb to altitude, release, and complete the challenge. Starting at 100M and going to 1,000M (1B) should take 49 challenges. Thus, it is reasonable to expect that you can go from 100M to 1B in about an hour.

Dude it worked great until I got to 10 million in wager winnings and then it reverted back to 1 million in winnings each time and the wager is frozen to where I can't change it to even the 5 million. So I'm going to have to give this solution a negative vote, sorry.

Upvote from me. Imo this was the most efficient and least aggravating way to reach 1 billion dollars in the bank. Just had to remember not to touch the min. bet wager once the max. bet wager reached 5 million. It really doesn't take too long to get to 1 billion when that max. wager tops out at 5 million.
