How to unlock the Longing For Fire achievement in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames - Definitive Guide

This is the "Longing for Fire" achievement awarded when "You reached maximum Chinese mood."

You've got to follow the main storyline of the game until after you have verified Carmona. Then head back to base and talk to Fiona to open up the full map and gain access to the Allied Nations and the Chinese factions. Your initial Chinese faction mood is related to you P.L.A.V. mood, my P.L.A.V. mood was maxed out so this unlocked straight away.

In method one I messed up.. it should say "METHOD ONE: Get the Chinese mood to neutral (by completing a AN (Ally mission) then getting the Chinese mood back to max (by completing a Chinese mission). This DID NOT work for me."

Good guide. This achievement WAS glitched for me so here is how you unglitch it (please add it to the guide if you want):

This achievement WAS bugged for me (reason why it's not timestamped for me). If it does get bugged for you there are several ways to unlock this achievement (if you try all of these it should UNLOCK).

METHOD ONE: Get the AN mood to neutral (by completing a Chinese mission) then getting the AN mood back to max (by completing a AN mission). This DID NOT work for me.

METHOD TWO: Save your game (with max mood), exit to dashboard, LOG OFF OF XBL (still sign into your account but don't be connected to live, so unplug your wireless adapter or Ethernet cable), get back into the game and load the game save up. If it worked it should unlock when you FIRST start the game. This method DID NOT work for me.

METHOD THREE: Clearing your cache. Save your game (with max mood), exit to the dashboard, go to the system panel, go to the memory button, press X, X, LB, RB, X, X. Hit "Yes" on the confirmation box and you are set to go. Reload the game answer NO to the update (so you will be off line but logged into your profile), load the game, and pop... This method did work for me.

I hope this helps someone out... I had several glitched achievements in this game so I had memorized clearing my cache out.

NOTE: Clearing your cache out is COMPLETELY safe. All it does is clear out all the game's updates (you just have to re-download them) however it does not clear out any information, GS, downloaded games, movies, DLC, and so on.
