How to unlock the FaceCamo Addict achievement in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Definitive Guide

There are 14 FaceCamos in total in the game, excluding the ones you get via password, and you need 10 of them to unlock this trophy. The FaceCamos are the following and are unlocked either by progressing the story or by meeting certain requirements. Some FaceCamos can be acquired only during Mission Briefings. During Mission Briefings, you can control the Mk. II. You do not have to do these during playthroughs, you can simply go to the Mission Briefings category from the Main Menu and still get the camos. At some part during the briefing, you will have a two-windows perspective. You will see "Press Select for help" on the bottom of the screen. Press the button to switch to 1st Person Full Screen Mode, hit the button and then to control the Mk. II. Move it around with the Left Analogue Stick.

  • Standard FaceCamo: This is your basic FaceCamo that is obtained as part of the story for defeating the Laughing Octopus.
  • Young Snake: This is unlocked automatically upon completing Act 2: Solid Sun
  • Young Snake w/ Bandanna: This is unlocked automatically upon completing Act 2: Solid Sun
  • MGS1 Snake: This is unlocked automatically upon completing Act 3: Third Sun
  • Laughing Beauty: Defeat Laughing Beauty non-lethally. Refer to the Laughing Octopus Doll trophy for a strategy on this battle.
  • Raging Beauty: Defeat Raging Beauty non-lethally. Refer to the Raging Raven Doll trophy for a strategy on this battle.
  • Crying Beauty: Defeat Crying Beauty non-lethally. Refer to the Crying Wolf Doll trophy for a strategy on this battle.
  • Screaming Beauty: Defeat Screaming Beauty non-lethally. Refer to the Screaming Mantis Doll trophy for a strategy on this battle.
  • Roy Campbell: During the Briefing of Act 1: Liquid Sun, go and bump Roy Campbell with the Mk. II to unlock this camo.
  • Otacon: During the Briefing of Act 3: Third Sun, go and bump Otacon with the Mk. II to unlock this camo.
  • Raiden without Vizor: During the Briefing of Act 3: Third Suns, go and bump Naomi with the Mk. II to unlock this camo.
  • Raiden Vizor Down: During the Briefing of Act 4: Twin Suns, go and bump Sunny with the Mk. II to unlock this camo.
  • Drebin: You need to obtain at least 60 weapons for this camo. Refer to the I am THE expert on weapons trophy for more information.

"Campbell's Mask" - does not affect receiving the trophy. And without him they will give everything, I generally doubt that such a facecam exists....

You need to get any 10 masks, no matter which ones.

In fact, the trophy is elementary. There are more than 10 masks in the game. Most are unlocked through the story or through non-lethal neutralization of bosses. The remaining camouflages can be obtained by stupidly driving around Nomad in briefings and crashing into people. The trophy is easy to take even on the first playthrough.
Mask of young Solid, Solid with a bandana, pixel Solid - according to the plot.
masks of each of the beauties (4 pieces) for completing them non-lethally
Three masks with a nomad - Otacon, Raiden, Raiden with a closed helmet.
This is more than enough to get the trophy.

At the beginning of the game I encountered this problem. In the briefing before the first mission, crashing into Campbell, Otacon and Sunny, nothing happened, that is, after the briefing I was not given a mask. And no matter how hard I tried to crash into them - nothing... The solution was simple: it turns out that I had to defeat the first boss (Laughing Octopus) in the second act of the game and Snake, according to the plot, picks up the FaceCamo from the floor and, as it were, only at that moment "enters" how to use it. As soon as control is transferred to you, save the game, go to the main game menu (well, you can later, in another act for example...) and select the briefing before Act 1 (which is with Campbell) - and voila: everything works.
