How to unlock the Competitive Glory achievement in Midnight Club: Los Angeles - Definitive Guide

This repquires you to beat the Beaches, Downtown, Hollywood and Hills tournaments. A tournament consists of 3 races. You get 7 points for a win, 4 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd and 1 for coming last. Highest total points after the three races wins. If you come first in the first two races, you wont even have to bother with the last race, as no one will be able to catch up with even if you only get one point.

I managed to get this somehow after only running 3 of them. I still have the downtown 1 left.

I got this as well after only doing 3, beach, Hollywood, and hills. I did complete the south central tournament before completing any of base game tournaments so it seems that can count as one of the four or it may just be a bit buggy and unlock early.

I cannot get this to pop as I dont seem to be able to get the Beach Time Trial to appear. I have done races in the area but they just repeat any nothing new unlocks. Any ideas?

In addition to what Adam said by all means use the SLOWEST cars you have access to. Don't upgrade anything but nitrous.
I did it with 1 of the South central low riders I think. The AI will match you with similar cars. This makes it much easier to not get into accidents during these normally really tough races. The basic goal in this game is to not hit stuff. It's way easier to not hit stuff if you're not going as fast.

To get this achievement you need to win each of the four tournaments in Los Angeles. Once you unlock the last bike, upgrade it to level 3. Bikes are much easier to handle than the cars are from what i have noticed and once i did that I beat the tournaments on Hard difficulty no problem. It may take longer to reset after a crash, but it goes much faster than the cars in those tournaments so you'll have a good lead on them. Once I mastered that bike, I used it in every event and got a slew of other achievements as well using it.

AWD drivetrain cars, such as the Mitsubishi cars, or the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34) are much easier to handle than the bikes such as the lower level Ducatis.

The bikes' handling take time to be mastered.

To unlock this achievement, just win each of the four tournaments at least once (Hollywood, Beach, Downtown and Hills). Each of the tournaments will be raced first on Medium Difficulty (yellow). You will get 7 points for finishing first, 4 for 2nd place, 2 for third and 1 for 4th/last place. You will be guaranteed to win the tournament, if you place first in two races, but last in one of the three races.

All-Wheel Drive cars are much easier to handle compared to other vehicles due to their intense grip, such as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR-edition or Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34), so use those cars as they can easily win the tournaments with nearly no problems, and even win the DUB Tournaments on Hard difficulty.

There is a tournament for each section of LA. Just win each one once. If you're having trouble, you can always come back when you have a better car (or bike!).
