If Studio Hills isn't showing up in your list then you need to go beat Andrew in the Hills on his motorcycle. None of his races are Studio Hills, but immediately after beating him the race will unlock in Goal Attack anyway.

Damn this is one boring ass achievement! Been on it forever, down to 17 left & still can't bring myself to finish today! Try to have fun guys & also, let's spam Rockstar with e-mails asking them to not put these goal attacks in the sequel.... More variety in the story line would be better!

I'm working towards this now :3 best advice I can give is check you have all the races... Use the Last bike ( I have no idea what it's called and do it up to Level 3 ) and just get A load of energy drinks and sit there and blitz them down. :3 I have 3 quarters done in two days :D

Ok we got the list, but this doesn't give advice on best method for achieving. I don't need to hear, "just practice", blahblah, because that's redundant info. What is the best vehicals, set ups, driving styles, etc????

@timutimu: I have done the goal attacks with the bigger Ducati (i think it's called 1009 or something) fully upgraded. Apart from that, the only advice is.... practice.

Yeah, I'd like a list of tips for each race, shortcuts, strategies, etc. A list of the races isn't very helpful, is it?

Landmark races are the most annoying! you need to know shortcuts and strategies for those, i have completed only 1 of the landmark races which is beach to the hills (first goal attack completed since i know a shortcut) and everything else. Also if you like completed the game not 100% but beat the city champ and all the other champ and get the garage and currently at 68% completion in storyline does that mean that you unlock every single race?

oh yeah good place to start working on your 5k miles achievement, i cant think of anything to do since the last time trial (beaches) wont unlock and i want the 5k. The goal attack counts toward the 5k miles even if you restart.

For those who can't find the 3 Downtown Landmark Races. I found that looking for a Red Light Race in the Downtown area unlocks all 3. It usually spawns on Flower St or North Figueroa. You don't even need to win or race back, just need to finish the race. Found this info on x360a forums

KylaAnggeKZYeng, it’s a rare glitch, sadly nothing can be done except deleting a save and starting the game all over.

Had to start over and play through until I got the DUB Murcielago in order to knock out these Goal Attacks again, Won a majority of them with the aforementioned Lamborghini.

Found the issue causing the glitch. Avoid the SC Goal Attacks until all non-DLC GAs have been won.

Only the Audi R8 or any of the Lamborghinis can win these races. I find it very easy to win these races with any of these cars at a maxed out state.

Also the above method works with all the landmark races for a particular area, you just need to spawn a red light race in that area. Hollywood: Sunset Boulevard; Hills: Ventura Boulevard or 101 freeway; Beeches: Ocean Ave or 3rd/4th St; South Central: Crenshaw Boulevard. Also found on x360a forums.

Goal Attacks

This is from my Midnight Club: Los Angeles walkthrough.

I have included marked maps for the best route to take in each Unordered and Landmark race. has kindly created some videos for the Landmark and Unordered races

Goal attacks are located by the following route:
> Press cn_start
> Press cn_RB
> Scroll down to the second option, Xbox Live
> Press cn_A

The races are split in to 4 sub-menus: Ordered Race, Circuit Race, Unordered Race and Landmark Race.

You can not complete all of the races if you not have beaten the story as you need to race on every track. Once you race Andrew for a second time, you will unlock the final track.

Each Goal Attack has four pieces of criteria:

> Win the race
> Finish the race with less than 25% damage
> Beat the time limit
> Achieve all goals in the same race

There are a total of 74 races.

Note: If you have the South Central DLC, you should also see races in the same list that are not listed below. They are not needed for this achievement but there is another achievement for completion of them. They are easily identified as the DLC by the 'SC' icon next to the name of the race. The icon also shows at the beginning of each race from the DLC.

The best vehicle to use is a fully tuned Ninja. Use the weight transfer to help when turning corners. It can be tricky to master this vehicle but once you do, this should be a breeze. With the Ordered and Circuit races, you should need no help. If you have beaten the game, they will be a stroll in the park 99%. You have more than enough time to do each of the Ordered and Circuit races.

I have made maps for each one. I apologise for my basic paint work but there was not any videos for these at the original time of publication. I also do not have a capture card. However, DaChiefOfOwnage has created some videos and they will be shown below.

For the maps, I have kept the same legend as the game. The arrows will guide you around the track. Start at the GREEN arrow and follow the orange arrows around.
To keep the page shorter, I have put the map and video for each race in a spoiler tab so you can open the race you need. That makes scrolling a lot easier.

Okay so this achievement has just glitched on me and will not unlock. I do the last landmark race that I have left and complete the goal attacks but then nothing happens, I go back to the Goal attack select screen and it says that I have came first and got the target time, but not the damage even though I have tried it again in different vehicles and even done it with no damage at all. Please try and help I have spent hours on this game and I want to finish it cry

Just wanted to correct a thing on what is so far a wonderful guide. The route described for 'Downtown to Sunset Music' is not possible to take, as a piece of road does not exist.) (Which took me embarrassingly many tries to realise laugh)

Take this route instead: http://imgur.com/2OEHjgV

Hhm, I am pretty sure that is the route I took. I no longer have the game to check it out but do you mind if I add you comments to the solution and my walkthrough?

Just in case I made a mistake. If anyone else could confirm that but I am sure I took that route. Is there not a lane or something? I think I remember a road underneath the bridge.

You're right, there is a road under the bridge! I just kept thinking there was a road I missed, as is looks that way on your map. Pretty risky to cross the highway on a ninja.

In any case, I would think my route is faster, as it lets you keep a higher speed. You're welcome to add it. :)

Found out that the glitch is caused by winning a lot of South Central Goal Attacks before completing the main GAs. I had the glitch on me once, therefore, had to start a new game and do it again on the Murcielago DUB Edition.

Great Solution! but also, these races can be won with the R8, Gallardo or Murcielago, not just the Ninja or 1098R.

Commenting OT for the original guide. Finally mustered up the time and courage to attempt the Goal Attack mode. Owned this game since release but never did get very far in terms of completing this mode. The Landmark races were going to be the worst, no doubt, and the maps in the above solution worked an absolute charm. In some cases, it did take a 2nd/3rd run through because I missed turnings, but there was instances where I even strayed off the path you highlighted above and I still won/made it with plenty of time to spare.

Great solution!

This is best done after the game and you have gotten 100% finished with the game.
If you don't have 100% most likely you haven't raced Andrew a second time.
Once you have 100%, it's best to do this on the Ninja and fully upgrade the bike.
If you don't already know, it helps a lot on a few of the turns to hit nitro as you are finishing some sharper turns. this helps you corner better. No idea why that is, seems like it should be the opposite.
Also you have to be very careful, cause you can't get more than 25% damage.
If you have more damage, just restart the race. You can see by looking at the speedometer. There is a yellow line that shows how much is 25%.
And at the end, make sure you got all of it at the same time including the time limit, if not you must start over.

Contrary to using the Ninja, the Lamborghinis can serve as a better choice due to their AWD drivetrain, as well as there is also the Ducati 1098R, which is a faster motorbike than the Ninja.

contrary to this solution I achieved this on about 80% game completion, I was only missing 3 landmark races which I unlocked by winning a red light race in the downtown area, But yeah It its a very good idea to start this towards the end of the game to make sure that you have all the circuits and ordered races available.

After a few days of going ballistic, I've finally mastered the Ninja.
Like the guides above, wait til you complete the game so you can unlock the races for goal attack.
The races that tend to gave me the biggest headaches were the unordered races. So i tackled them first, then the longest races next.

The easiest way to do all the goal attacks, is to use the Ninja motorbike, and to become very familiar with the weight transfer button. It helps if you have a general idea of the city layout.....

To turn even sharper, or to avoid a costly slide / crash, as you turn, let go of the accelerator, tap handbrake and weight transfer simultaneously into the direction you want to go, then reapply accelerator. If you're still sliding, hit a nitro.

Using this method, I was very confident in my ability to win every time - not counting the damned pedestrians. In fact I just downloaded south central an hour ago, and have only 6 more races to do :)

Not so much a guide but I do feel it should be on the main page as well not everyone reads the comments but even though this achievement isn't flagged for buggy I was up since 1am today the 21/2/2015 done all the goal attacks and the dlc ones and had to go back to unlock a few races unlocked them. Done them and now the game is telling me I'm missing objectives even though when you finish the race it says 4 stars or 3 which ever one is fully completing it now I've read it up online that the only way to fix it is to delete your save :(

Before doing any Goal Attack, you may want to back up your save game (if you are on Xbox 360; as Xbox One/Series X uses the Cloud Save Games) in case you run into a glitch where goal attack objectives may permanently stop registering as completed.

Therefore, it is recommended to do all 74 regular goal attacks first before completing the South Central Goal Attacks.

The DLC Goal Attacks are marked with SC in the race selection screen, and those 26 races are not needed for this achievement, and are used for another achievement instead.

To enter Goal Attack, do the said procedure below:
1. Press cn_start to enter the pause menu
2. Press cn_RB
3. Scroll down to the second option, Goal Attack
4. Press cn_A

There are a total of 74 races in the main game, and each Goal Attack has the same objectives listed below that have to be fulfilled in order to successfully pass the challenge.

In order to complete a Goal Attack, you must do all of the three objectives below in the same race to get a gold star on it.
-Finish in 1st place
-Finish the race under the specified time limit
-Finish the race with less than 25% damage on your vehicle (A yellow bar indicates how much damage you can take before exceeding the limit)

Special abilities (Zone, Agro, Roar, EMP) are disabled for the Goal Attack races, making this grind more challenging.

The best vehicle to use is either a fully upgraded Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster (both the regular and DUB Edition) or Audi R8 (if you unlocked it through the Social Club), due to their all-wheel drive drivetrain, which makes them less prone to spinning out aside from their all-rounded acceleration, speed and handling.

The sport bikes, especially the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 or Ducati 1098R can also clear these easily due to their extremely fast acceleration and responsive handling, which is merely a trade-off of how tricky it is to get used to handling them, as well as being more vulnerable to damage, so be careful when using bikes for Goal Attacks.

In circuit races, make sure to use all nitrous before the second lap as this will just refill the used up nitrous. You can also draft behind opponents if you can, however, you can only draft cars, so you have to be careful if you race against two motorcycle opponents.

Each race must be unlocked through the main story missions, with the final race (Studio Hills) being unlocked after you defeat Andrew on a motorcycle. To earn this achievement, you must win each of the following 74 races in first place, with less than 25% damage, and must beat the time listed below for each race.

After coming back to this game after starting it 15 years ago, I found a few tips and have some general advice for those looking at this. I'll attempt to not repeat anything, as there's already a bunch of guides saying the same thing. Use the other guides for routes, and note how every single guide says to not complete any of the South Central goals until you unlock this achievement.

First off, this achievement is NOT that hard. I initially wasn't going to even attempt this achievement because of the nearly 8 ratio, as I figured it was difficult since it was an old game. It isn't hard AT ALL, and don't be afraid to go for this.

Before starting, make sure you use the above/below solutions to confirm you have all races unlocked. I was at 100% completion in the game and was missing 3 Landmark Races. Landmark races are unlocked by finding, and beating, the Red Light Racers. Check your map and confirm you have 4 available(5 if you have DLC). I was going a bit crazy thinking I may have to go through the entire game again if I wanted this achievement but found the below info on a 15-year-old forum post on a PlayStation trophies site.

Just ensure to find the 4 red light racers; you will get a screen notification when you find each one. If you have South Central DLC, add 1 racer more.
You just need to find them in the required areas:
Downtown: It usually spawns on Flower St or North Figueroa.
Hollywood: Can be found driving by Sunset Boulevard.
Hills: Easy to find, just keep coming between Ventura Boulevard and 101 Freeway.
Beeches: Ocean Ave or 3rd/4th St.
South Central: Crenshaw Boulevard.

Ordered races should all be easy, and once you get going you will get the majority of them done first try. Landmark and Unordered are a bit more difficult, but once you find the path(use other guides), they're all fairly easy. Circuit races were the most difficult for me because they were longer, which made the 25% damage requirement a bit tough. I used the Ninja bike, and things like fences and posts all added a decent chunk of damage. Take your time on these, as the time requirement is very very forgiving on most of these.

With damage though, you do not have to be perfect. There were times when I fully crashed, and had to wait for the respawn, and I still completed all the requirements.

If you're going for the 5k miles achievement, you might as well do these, as it adds around 1k miles. I finished the game with goal attacks and am only at 3k miles, with the lengthier online achievements left which will hopefully bring me closer.

Again, this achievement is NOT as difficult as the ratio suggests.

This is the most difficult trophy in terms of skill to get. These races are found in your pause menu and are (appropriately) called Goal Attack races. Each race has the three following goals:

1. Finish under the specified time.
2. Come in 1st place.
3. Finish with less than 25% damage.

You get a gold star for a race if you have do all three goals during a single attempt. This trophies requires you to get gold stars on every race! I recommend using a fully upgraded Ninja for these races. It takes a little getting used to. The speed and handling are a great trade-off for the (very) low damage tolerance. You unlock races by playing them in the game. Ordered and Circuit races can be unlocked in the regular races. Landmark races can be unlocked from time trials, red-light races and delivery races. I'm pretty sure Unordered races are immediately unlocked. Here is a list of all the races:

Before attempting any of the goal attacks I would recommend backing up your save, to my knowledge you can only back it up on the 360 console. If you're playing this on Xbox One or Series X it uses the cloud save. To back it up go onto a 360 console and copy the save from the cloud to the hard drive or memory unit of the console.

When launching the game you will want to select the cloud as your save option if you're on 360 console.

You will want to do this because there's a glitch with the Complete Edition disc where sometimes it will not register the objectives as completed when you look at all the Goal Attack Races in the pause menu, despite saying you've done them all when you finish the race.

I recommend that you do all the base game goal attacks first, then revert to your backed up save and copy it to the cloud. I had this glitch on me twice.

If you're having trouble with a certain race, feel free to use my video as a reference.

Hope this helped, thanks again.

You need to open 74 races and get a star on each one. To get it, you must fulfill 3 conditions AT THE SAME TIME: Arrive first, meet the specified time, receive no more than 25% damage. The easiest way to complete a goal attack is on the latest ninja motorcycle, fully tuned. It quickly picks up and maintains speed and is also very maneuverable. You can calmly slow down on difficult sections without worrying about time (usually they give you enough). There are only about 10 truly difficult trails, depending on your experience. P.S: You can safely crash into lampposts and trees at speed, they do not cause damage and do not reduce speed, but it is better to avoid destructible objects and shuffling against walls!

It is also better to avoid jumping, since especially delicate sports cars, as well as motorcycles, even with a neat, at first glance, landing, take away a decent chunk of health.

Management Council. In the option - games, set " Steering sens. " to -10. The motorcycle will become more comfortable to drive.
