Firstly, make a Crafting Table using Wooden Planks if you don't already have one.

Next, use the table to make the iron armour, you'll need 24 Iron Ingots. You need to craft an iron helmet (5 ingots), chestplate (8 ingots), leggings (7 ingots) and boots (4 ingots).

Finally, open your inventory (

) then drag the pieces of armour into place. You should now have the achievement.

Achievement wasn’t unlocking for me after a few seconds so I came here and saw other ppl with the same problem. I made an iron sword and equipped it and the achievement popped. Achievement might just take a while to pop & the sword could just be a coincidence

I put on a full suit plus the iron sword while I was in multiplayer and nothing. I went to single player and after about a full minute after just the suit, no sword, the achievement popped.

If it’s not unlocking for you press start (the 3 dashes button to the right of the Xbox button) then go to settings and if it says something like achievements are not available in this world (or something to that effect) then somehow cheats were activated on that world and you’ll have to start a new world. Hope this helps.

Did not unlock for me at first.
Removed everything from my character, then re-equipped the Armor.
Unlocked after 30-60 seconds

I also had to make a Shield. I made the Helmet, Torso, Legs, Boots & a Sword and it didn't unlock. I saw Chris1984uk's comment and it popped once I equipped the Shield

Had exactly the same issue with an imported Xbox One profile/map. The shield was needed to unlock it. Thanks guys

I had to hold an iron sword and crouch holding a shield and it pooped up. Maybe you had to be in a warrior pose for it.

Strange how it seems to work differently for everyone, I unlocked it years ago so I wouldn't be able to speculate

Got it even tho I didn’t need a shield. Took some time to pop tho, funny enough I was running back to my base to make the shield and it popped when I was close

I don't know what I did, but I just kept putting on and taking off the iron armor. The achievement popped maybe an hour later. Restarting the game seemed to help me.
