How to unlock the Lion Hunter achievement in Minecraft - Definitive Guide

To tame an ocelot, you need raw fish. A fishing rod is made from 3 sticks and 2 string. Ocelots themselves are found in jungle biomes. They will run if you walk towards them- you need to crouch in order to approach them. If they slowly walk over to you then you know it is working. Simply feed them the raw fish and they will turn into a random domestic cat, netting you the achievement.

You don't need the fishing rod, you can find and kill schools of salmon to get the fish instead!

Worked perfectly on seed "prosplank" at spawn location you are at the edge of a jungle with a river. Turn on "bonus chest" and you may get some fish. Ocelot appears right near you.

Great seed for this achievement (in v1.16.40) is 70906

Can verify as exact0 said, the seed prosplank still spawns you by a river in a jungle as of 13/05/21, or 05/13/21 for Americans

08/09/2022 v1.19.22 -- Seed 1027331069 will put you right in the middle of a huge jungle. Create a world with a chest at the start and take fish there

I've tried this several times with the ocelots successfully being tamed and following me around, but no achievement. I've popped quite a few others on the same world. Does anyone have any suggestions for buggy achievements in this game?

For some reason this took hours to pop for me so it’s definitely buggy, but this works

You might want to note that it took me 6 raw fish to get my ocelot to turn into a regular cat. So you'll want to go prepared, or hope there's a river nearby!

For those who want to get this over and done with and don't want to have to bother looking for a Jungle Biome:

1) Create a new world save in the tutorial world on the Xbox One version of Minecraft.
2) Upload that save and re-download it on the new version of the game.
3) From spawn - go up the stairs and through the tunnel (going over the tripwire which lets off the fireworks), carry on going straight forward over the bridge, then turn left once you see the wheat in the item frame on the left hand side (this where the animals are).
4) From the chest in the middle, take the 10 raw fish and go forward to where the Ocelots are in the pen (should be 2 of them).
5) Feed 1 of the Ocelots the raw fish until it turns into a Cat with red hearts coming out of it (to show you've tamed it).
6) Achievement unlocked.

Hope this helps :)

What if you don't have the other version of the game? Is there anyway to get it?

You should be able to get it if you've got more than 6 hours played of the original Xbox One edition of Minecraft

So I downloaded the tutorial world from the Minecraft Xbox One version to the Minecraft bedrock version and unlocked two achievements today. The world still works.

EDIT - I was able to tame an ocelot in the tutorial of Minecraft Xbox One Edition. Which is not this game that we're posting to, but another version. Not sure why there's two. Either way, it might take a minute to calm the ocelots down to tame. Took me a couple minutes of crouching to them to get them to eat the fish. But it worked.

@death metal jay, I unlocked a few achievements in the tutorial in Minecraft Xbox One Edition today actually.

Super Fuel achievement
Body Guard achievement
Local Brewery achievement
Music to my Ears achievement

I'm about to try this one now, which I have a feeling it should work no problem seeing how I was able to get the others.

However, on this version, I can't seem to find the tutorial after already playing on a realm. So that edition may not be able to achieve through tutorial. Not sure if it offers a tutorial at the start. Its been a while since I started it.
