How to unlock the So Big and Shiny achievement in Monopoly Streets - Definitive Guide

Needs 2 controlers - Start a custom game.. Monopoly city board.. max money.. Random dealt propertys.. Nothing else matters.. Start the game.. Swap all the properties and cash for $1.. Should have about 10k worth.. then bankrupt the poor player.. Takes about 30 seconds to get this!!

also note that you can't trade all the property and money for $1 at once. i had to trade all property first, giving only $1. then i traded one cheap property for all their money. the money was needed to give me over $10K from the start of the game. then i traded back my one property for another $1 just to have it. didn't have to bankrupt the player, the achievement popped before the game ended.

This achievement will only pop on the Monopoly city or Landmark city boards. After a few turns you will be shown some towers which rise and fall depending on how much money you have. When you hit 10,000 Monopoly pounds your tower will be gold and tall. 50g is yours.

im confused about the negative vote as this is what you have to do. If people are having a problem you are welcome to ask or leave a comment.

Hi,

I've played quite a few games now against 3 hard A.I. and often won (though the achievements for winning a game and for winning against 3 hard AI don't pop up :( ), I only ever seem to hit this 10K mark after bankrupting the last player. Any suggestions for what game mode, AI skill and any other tactics that will help to win more slowly I guess?

Kudos to you for playing on hard. I struggled on anything other than easy. I started up a landmark game put AI to easy and put the starting money up for everyone as far as it would go. With the AI on easy you can do trading really easily and get more properties and place hotels they will land on what you own and have to pay but still have cash left over. Hope this helps monkey.

Hey Jonny,

It would have helped thank-you, but I got the achievement last night in a game. After luck was on my side early on, I managed to dominate the game taking one opponent out early on. I kept hotels on properties that would not bankrupt the other two but would seriously damage them, then as they ran out of money I removed the properties so as not to kill them off. It was a long game, but eventually with all the extra passing go money in the game I managed to get up to 9K, at which point I whacked hotels all over the place and quickly took out a second opponent which took me over the 10K and earned me that nice gold shiny tower :)

P.s. if you ask me, hard is easier than easy in this game. Sounds silly I know, but it seems to me that the A.I. are less likely to do stupid trades with each other where they give another A.I. a full colour set.

Thanks again :)

This one can be a little tricky as it appears to have two parts.

The first thing that you must do is have a total worth of $10,000. In doing this you will set yourself up for the achievement to end the game with a total worth of over $9,000. Once you have a worth of $10,000 or more then upgrade "Boardwalk" and "Park Place" to hotels and the achievement should pop.

Some ways to increase the amount of money available and to help build your net worth are doing things like: Pass go, collect $500, land on go, collected $1000, free parking $500. Players start with $2,500.

Turns out after my friend StupidDex and I played around with it for a little while that you can only achieve this while playing the MONOPOLY CITY board so obviously make sure that you are playing this board and the achievement will unlock.

Well, I just had a worth of over $13k, and built hotels on both blues, but no achievement. Their is either some other requirement, or it's glitched for me. THUMBS DOWN haha just kidding

Just as an FYI, having a hotel on Boardwalk or Park Place has nothing to do with it. You simply have to have a net worth of $10,000 on the Monopoly City Board.

I found that the achievement would only unlock when it updated the tower hights on hitting 10K, nothing to do with building hotels.

You must play on the Monopoly City board to get this. In order to upgrade your Corporate HQ to it's largest upgrade, you must be worth more than $11000. Easiest way to do this is to start a 2-player custom rules game with all the properties being given out at the beginning of the game, the starting cash amounts at $2500 a person and $500 for passing GO. After the games begin, move around the board til you pass GO for the first time, then have player 2 trade you all his properties and money which should make your worth be just over $11000 (as long as you didn't have to pay anything as you went around the board). Once you're worth over $11000, you Corporate HQ will upgrade to it's largest upgrade and the trophy will pop!

You need to play on 1 map which is modeled as a 3-D city and when you reach approximately 9-10 thousand total real estate your achievement will be
