This type of event is a circuit based event with diamond time bonuses worth 2 seconds each that you can pick up along the way. You don't have to collect each of the time bonuses along the way, but you should try to get most of them; especially if playing on hard to ensure you win the event. If you miss one don't worry about it, just keep moving along. It takes much longer to turn around for a 2 second bonus then it does to just keep trucking towards the next one. Another tip to keep your truck stable and on the track is to press up on when going up a jump and holding it while in the air to ensure you land on all 4 tires. You won't even need to use 4-wheel steering for the early events in this category, just slow down a bit to get a nice straight line off the turn.
