The Melting Remnant are unlocked when you have killed a total of 1,300 units with any other clan. Play through with them as your Primary or Secondary clan. Primary clan gets full experience for a run win or lose but the secondary clan gets only half the experience. You'll need around 245,000 experience to reach level 10.

This didn't unlock when I reached level 10?
Edit: Played two more standard runs winning the first boss and losing at the second. It popped on the second.
