How to unlock the Top of the Class achievement in MotoGP 09/10 - Definitive Guide
For this you need to receive an A in practice, qualifying, and the race. In practice concentrate on doing fast consistent lap times and hitting the corner markers and getting clean sections, but be sure to stay out of the way of the faster riders. In qualifying, it all comes down to time, if you stay on track and get in the top three you should have an A. The race is the hardest. You need to run clean and finish at least in the top 5, dont go off, collide, or use a second chance replay if possible. You will get it at the end of the race weekend when it tallies up points
There is a really easy way to obtain an A ranking in Practice and Qualifying: just stop at the starting line and press right on your D-pad for 2 minutes... now just press start and leave the mode. You don't even have to drive or finish a round... of course you start in the last position, if you leave qualifying after 2 minutes without completing a single round, but with the lowest difficult it should be no problem to be in the top 3, even with such a bad starting position.
Probably you can do the same cheap "trick" in the race, but you still have to finish the race and you don't earn money and points. So my suggestion is just race like you normally do and if only got a B/C ranking for the race, do the step above for the next race and try it again until you grab your A ranking.
if you just start the season with a default bike, you have a harder time to win the race, because with upgrades it's so much easier... just learn to handle the bike and if you win most of the races, you should have no problem to earn the A ranking... just race clean, don't crash and don't hit the bike of your opponents (my number one reason to mess up my ranking) and don't use the rewind function... you don't have to win, but if you win, you also earn a bonus.... and there is a little room for some errors... so if you hit the bike from someone in the front of you, there is no reason to restart immediately... but i'm pretty sure after some races you know how many mistakes you can do, until you have to restart the entire race.
Good luck!

To get An 'A' rating in all three sessions you need to:
Practice: The first lap try and get a fast time, after the first lap return to pits and let the grade come up, usually a 'B'. If you were the fastest rider, after that just continue, finishing the timer by just showboating.
Qualifying: This one should only take one lap. As long as you qualify on pole position you will get an 'A' grade.
Race: If you qualified on pole it will make this easier, just race clean doing fast laps making sure not to collide with other riders as this will decrease your rating.
