How to unlock the Freestyle Series 3 achievement in MX vs. ATV Reflex - Definitive Guide

In Freestyle, you will pull off many tricks (holding LB and moving the right analog stick in three directions) in an arena. You will be judged on the difficulty, flow, variety, and execution of your tricks throughout the two minute run. Your overall score is the deciding factor where you will be placed with the other riders. There are five events in this series, however, you will only have to place 3rd or better in the first four events. They are Triple X Jam, Trickaholix, X-Style Shoot-out, and Dover Street Marina. You will have to ride a MX bike or an ATV to compete in these events.

Some tips to help you:

- Play on Rookie difficulty. This achievement does not require a certain difficulty.

- Pulling a backflip will greatly help your score. To pull a backflip, hold LB going up the ramp, and push forward then backward on the right analog stick near the top of the ramp.

- You can also do tricks while doing a backflip.

- Whips count as tricks too. So, if you mess up on a jump--go off sideways or do not get a trick at the beginning--just move the right analog stick left or right to quickly get a whip in.

- Difficulty: Huge tricks and multiple trick combos. Try not to do no-handers, instead go for cliffhangers and the like.

- Flow: Use each ramp, jump, and any fun boxes.

- Variety: Keep you tricks fresh, try not to repeat the same trick twice.

- Execution: Hold your tricks longer than the normal, and always try and land cleanly.

If you're good at the tricks and can see opportunity where others may simply drive over then this is the event for you. Freestyle events on the whole aren’t that hard if you’re playing on rookie. The best and most important tip I can give you is that the tier 4 tricks in the ‘Trick Library’, accessed through the pause menu, are gold if you land them. If you have a lot of air in the jump you may also want to consider grouping the tricks, whether it’s a couple of the tier 1s or 2 hard ones then they’re all bound to impress the judges. You'll find it doesn't matter so much if you fall after a trick as well, obviously it doesn’t help but it's not the end of the world. There are two events to do in series 1 and 2 but as always in series 3 the amount you need double. This time its 4 events.
