How to unlock the National Series 3 achievement in MX vs. ATV Reflex - Definitive Guide

I just wanted to mention that if you do bad on your second round, you can restart event and it will just restart the round. So you don't have to worry about doing both rounds over again. I'd also recommend taking first in the first round and either first or second in the second round. Honestly, I've just be aiming for first each time. Skip the qualifying too to save you time. If you do the qualifying, that's an extra 3 laps you will have to do.

In the nationals, you will race a few laps around a natural outdoor track. There are eight races in this series, however, you will only have to place 3rd or better in the first six races. They are Moto 448, Prairie Valley, Sandwick, Pine Top, Armadillo Flats, and Razorback. You only have to be 3rd place or higher when you cross the finish line on the final lap. Take into account that there are 2 motos; so, you will have to finish high on both races.

You will be asked if you want to qualify for the races, but it really isn't required. It will only be the deciding factor on which gate you get to start at; and I mean, it isn't that hard to get in front of everyone after a lap. Just skip the qualifying, you'll save yourself the time it takes to do 3 laps.

You will have to ride either a MX bike or an ATV to compete in these races.

Some tips to help you:

- Play on Rookie difficulty. This achievement does not require a certain difficulty.

- Try and get the holeshot. An easy way to do this is to hold in the clutch, gas, and forward on the left analog stick at the start. Do not do anything with the right analog stick. When the gate drops, let go of the clutch (obviously) and keep holding forward. You may start a wheelie, but do not slow down, your wheelie will soon stop. After your front wheel has touched the ground again, stop holding forward and just continue to the first turn.

The nationals were my least favourite event in the game because of the unpredictable racing surface. Sometimes the surface was so dug up that it would even knock my rider off by driving over it. As long as you pay attention to it and adjust your line then you should be fine. There are 3 races in series 1 and 2 but it really shifts up a gear in 3 with 6 gruelling events. You have the option to race 3 qualifying laps to determine the best gate position but you get a decent position even if you choose to skip qualifying. During the event though you will have to finish in the top 5 in the first event and win the second before you can claim the wins so loads of patience is definitely a requirement.
