You either have to be on a MX bike or an ATV to perform tricks in the air.
You can do tricks in the air by holding LB and moving the right analog stick in any three directions. These three tricks do not have to be in the same jump, nor do they have to be different. You can pull a no-hander three times to get this achievement.
I got this by not even doing any tricks in the air though. After crossing the finish line, I was messing around and started a stoppie. However, my stoppie soon ended; so I started another, and another. So, I believe you could get this by doing three stoppies or three wheelies. Whips might even count as well!

Yep has to be LB. And very light on detail of where or how to do stuff like stoppies and wheelies, for people just playing for the achievements who aren't familiar with the game.

This is easy to do on the 2nd race of the first championship.
Start the race, go through the first checkpoint, then when you get to ridge, hold LB and move the right analog stick in three different directions. Make a successful landing of the trick, then turn around and repeat jumping off the same ridge until you have three different tricks.
There is no need to win the race, so when you have your three tricks finish the checkpoints and come last, but with an achievement!

You can also do it in arcade mode with the first unlocked track, which is good if you are just playing for a few achievements and find it a blessing not to have to play this garbage game any more than you have to. (Make sure you choose a race and not free ride.)

While playing through the races in Motocareer try to find a track with loads of hills when you can pull off tricks. I used Prairie Valley as there are many adequate hills to pull off different tricks. Its not too difficult and as soon as you pull off your third unique trick this one will unlock.
