How to unlock the Motocross star achievement in MXGP - The Official Motocross Videogame - Definitive Guide

Hi, and welcome to my "Motocross star" achievement guide.

First things first: This achievement will take a very long time to earn. There are no shortcuts, you will have to race almost 13 seasons in Career mode.

Each season has 14 weekends, of 2 races each. Do not worry about Qualification, it is not necessary, as you do not get extra fans for qualifying first.

Also, put the AI difficulty on Easy, as you also do not get extra fans for an increased difficulty.

You get an average of 4,450 fans per weekend. Over the course of a season, you will earn 62,000 fans, plus 15,000 for being World Champion. Do not change teams during the season, to ensure you are always World Champion.

Use the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team (with Antonio Cairoli) throughout during this achievement.

Excluding loading times, this achievement will take a minimum of 33 hours racing time.

This achievement guide assumes that you will always win every race, or at the very least, get a 1st and 2nd on every weekend, otherwise you will miss out on fans.

Good luck, and enjoy.

not true mascal, i chose an mx 2 team and i skipped the 1st race and won the 2nd and i didn't lose 3000 fans, on 1 of my races i only lost 9 fans because i didn't beat my rival but that was no loss really, so on my 3rd race i was on 319,985 fans, my team goal was 25 points for the session which meant i only had to get 1st on the 2nd race to get the team objective which i did, so i got over the 2 races - 940 fans for getting 9th, 2513 fans for getting the team objective of 25 points, and 1031 fans for beating my rival which gave me 3784 for winning 1 race and i am on 323769 now. so if you work out that doing this each 2 races i do will earn a minimum of 5000 fans just for the team objective, which could rise to about 7000 based on beating a rival or what positions i get. but it's worth it to me just for the team objective fans as i get 500 more doing it my way. you just have to make sure to choose a contract that is either mid table or podium finishes. hopefully someone else will try this to confirm it works.

in my first season i was in the tm ricci racing team and got 6500 fans per event (2 races at the same track). But then when i finished the season i went to a mx1 team because of the achievement and forgot to turn the auto saving offangry
today i will finish the second season and then i will go back to a mx2 team and hope i will get more fans. Otherwise i will quit out of some races like i tried yesterday (you loose 3000 fans per event for quitting) but anyway thats not the problem if i get then 6500 fans
I will post if it worked or not

I was thinking of that as well. Some weekends I only get 3,800 fans...

I would imagine this will have a pretty nice TA ratio once people start to unlock it, but for me its too much effort to do an additional 12 seasons for one 30g achievement. Ill stick with all the other achievements bar for that one and move on and wait for WRC 5

it doesnt workredface. So i started a new carrier and stay at the first team (Marchetti Racing) and now i get 6500 every time. So with the 10.000 bonus for being champion thats nearly exactly 100.000 in a season. So 10 seasons to go. Fuck this achievementangry But i will do it anywaysmile

i was going to try something but im on my 5th race so i can't do it until the end of the season, here's my theory - if you choose a contract where you only need to be in the top half of the table then go to the race but in the pit scroll left and skip race 1 and then win race 2 and see what difference you get with fans, if the difference isn't big then it may work better as you cut down the amount of races, and you should still have enough points from winning race 2 each time. if someone can try this theory of mine as i still have 9 races left on this season otherwise i would do it, i'll still try it if nobody else has tried it yet though.

If you quit a race, you get a 3000 fans penalty.

so i have gone so far into the season and it was working well but now after the 7th race im required to get 30 points and now on the 10th race i need 35 points so my theory works up to the 7th race which at least cuts down the amount of races i need to do, im not sure why the team points needed went up, maybe it's the contract which i have to have a podium finish im guessing is at the end of the season, i tried to get a contract to just finish in the top half but i couldn't find any of them, they were all champion or podium finish contracts, im guessing the top half contracts may work better.

Doing it hard way with going through all races all the time in MX1 with Red Bull's KTM took me over 40 hours, about 3.5h per season. I wanted try to try Claudio's way but it it didn't worked, sometimes I ended up with 5.5k but usually it was as always betwen 3.8-4.5k.
If we only know repeatable factor for geting points for Rider Challenge. One of the most borring grinds I had, Forza's Bucket List was much funnier comparing to this :). Devs put one '0' to much.

have you tried my method igor? check out the scores i got on the posts further up.

i think where they went wrong with the game was not allowing race laps to be set to just 1.

I am going to start the 9th season now. I am with Esta Motorsports, on MX2. I will try your system. If it works, I will update the guide accordingly :)

I will be updating after every race:

1st: 3148
2nd: 2760 (no rider challenge bonus)
3rd: 2648 (nrcb) 28 points off the Championship lead. Does not look good so far...
4th: 2513 (drew with challenger facepalm) 36 pocl (points off the Championship lead)

Changed Team to: Team CLS Monster Energy Kawasaki.

you don't have to update it mate as there is nothing wrong with your system, im just leaving my method in the comments for others to try if they want.

on the contract you took you haven't chosen a contract that wants you to win the title have you? either podium or better still get a contract that wants you to finish in the top half which will give you the end of season bonus, each time i have ended up in about 9th position at the end of the season, no bonus but i get about 40k for a 2 hr run.

I chose a contract that wants podiums out of me. I just want to find the fastest way to get this stupid achievement out of the way, so that others don't have to suffer what I have endured so far :)

it doesn't matter where you end up really as i ended up 9th at the end of the season and i just don't get the end of season bonus which is only about 2-3 races worth anyway.

you would think you would get more fans for staying with the same team each year but no.

so i went back and did an mx1 run doing all races (2 each track) and here are my scores.

4485
4511
4529
3801
3797
3885
4470
4426
4420
4563
19572* (*includes bonus for winning the championship which was 14983)
4555
3773
3733

overall - 74,520

so on other runs doing my other method of 1 race each i got

42,121 - which would have been 84,242 doing a normal championship

and another i did

38,813 - which would have been 77,626

so only really the end bonus is the main difference between the 2 methods but,if you get a good score like the 42,121 then it adds up about 10k more over the same amount of races doing the mx2 1 race method.

both methods are fine but i'll be sticking to the mx2 one as i hate the mx1 bikes and i think i will get a little bit more fans this way even if it's not a lot at least it will shorten the time and for some reason it seem to not feel like it's long doing the mx2 route, not sure why.

So does MX1, MX2, and what team you're on really matter? I'm on the MX2 Red Bull team without Cairoli and I'm making less fans than my previous KTM team but I think they go up a little the more you race with the team. I guess the Cairoli team is the MX1 Red Bull team? I was wondering why you specifically said this one. Thanks MM77.

Hi Matt. I will have to update this guide. There are many good tips in the comments, especially from JPG30.

im not sure matt if there is any difference really, i think you may get slightly more points with mx1 but i also think the races are harder and the bikes are harder to control on mx1.

i did another championship doing the mx2 method and got 43,083 which on a normal championship doing 2 races works out at 86,166.

i wish i could have tried the mx2 method with a contract that only requires you to finish in the top half as you should really get the end of season bonus with that as i have got either 8th or 9th more less everytime at the end of the season.

im currently on 730,467 now

I personally stayed with my starting MX2 team (Merchetti Racing Team) and the very first event I got 3500 and then for all of the rest of the events I got 5600-6500 plus the 10,000 championship bonus. So worked out to 11.5 seasons. I also did the MX1 achievement after I did this grind. Hope it helps

Also I believe if you change to MX1 and then you go back to your MX2 team you will not receive as many fans as you did the first time around

if deaths theory is true then that would be the best way and then for those who have gone past that point could do my theory.

im currently on 830k no after 15 seasons and 100 hours played.

Dear Kitty,

Thanks for your message.
The achievement is correct. It does require 1 MLN fan.

Looking pretty accurate timescale, currently set for season 13 weekend 3 finish although exclusively stayed with mx2 bikes. Its not rocket science way to get it but thumbs up for letting me know what I was in for. I am sooooo bored though.

got my achievement now, it took me 100 hours and 20 seasons although most of them were 1 race seasons so it's probably about 12 full seasons.

took me 3 days to get all the other achievements and 11 days to get this one achievement.

Im gonna assume it was supposed to of been 100000 instead of 1000000, but somebody put an extra 0 in by accident, all other achievements bar for online can be done in the first season apart from 1 race in the 2nd season to go to MXGP1, its more then possible to get 100000 by winning both races of every event in the season in one season. Shame somebody messed up, if they didnt it seems like an odd achievement anyway

tried another season needing a podium finish for the team.

here are the scores i recorded.

3359
3965
3030
2788
2523
3021
3107
2666
2646
2845
3046
2603
3763
2759

all these were 1 race not 2 as i skipped the 1st race, you must win the 2nd race though to get the team objective, if the objective isn't 25 points and is more then you will have to do both races on that track, failure to not get the team objective points will result in losing fans by about 3000, you can also lose fans by not winning the rival challenge but you only lose about 50 fans and it's no loss when you look at the overall score below.

so for 1 race each track i ended the season with 42,121 fans so if i had raced twice on a track like normal then i would have got 84,242 which means my method works as long as you keep an eye on the team points objective on each track needed, make sure you skip the 1st race on each track only when the team points needed are 25, anything more then don't skip the race.

choose mx2 (not sure if mx1 makes a difference or not) and choose a contract to have a podium finish, i tried to get a contract for just getting in the top half but i couldn't find any.

im going to do all my seasons this way now as i gain more fans overall based on the number of races to fans ratio, even though at the end of the season i came 9th overall so i got no bonus fans but i also wasn't punished either.

i hope others try this method to see what they think.

my team was standing construct KTM although im not sure there is any difference in teams tbh.

hope this helps, im going to do the same now and see how long a season takes doing the same as above.

You're opening comments Mascal, "this is going to take a very long time". So true, and, there are NO shortcuts. I just finished season 6. A bit more than 503K fans. Excluding the 10K Champ bonus, that's 5,276 per GP. I have not seen anything over 5,700 per GP yet. Waldi's numbers are off in terms of completion times and fan numbers. Also, these numbers do not include when I got sloppy at Ernee once and lost a couple thousand fans. Insignificant.

Sooo, I loaded my save to a flash drive, and, ran the 1st 3 G'sP with a different team. My fans went down by a couple thousand.

6 seasons to go.angry

The fastest way to get "Motocross star" achievement is to stay with your starting MX2 team through almost 11 seasons (winning every race).

If you start changing teams your fans incoms will drop.

You can do a backup save at the end of season 1, get "Let's get serious" achievement for signing a contract with MX1 team and then go back to original save to continue the grind.

Alternatively you can just leave "Let's get serious" achievement for last and get it at the end of season 11.

Your fans incoms will vary from one race weekend to another, don't worry about it and continue (i usually started low every season, about 3.500 ... sometimes a couple of 5.500, but most of the race weekends will be at 6.400-6.700 range ... plus 10.000 every season for being MX2 champion).

At the end of season 10 i had about 947.000 fans and i got "Motocross star" achievement after race weekend 9 in season 11 (i was like 100 fans short after race weekend 8).

Total play time (with loadings): 32,5 h.
Average fans for a season: 94-95.000.
Total races: 298.

This guide is mainly for people who are not far in the game yet.
If you pass season 1 and already advance to MX1 please check Mr Mascal 77 solution (also check its comments for some alternatives).
It might be still worth to reset your career and start from a scratch with my solution but it really depends on your current fans incoms and how far you are in the game (just do the math and decide then).

Good Luck!

after following this solution, I will not reach 1 million fans until season 13. Am not saying this is not potentially slightly faster than Mascal's solution, but it adds nothing extra and is not reliably accurate.

One thing for sure do not consider a reset, may save you an hour, but could cost you 3 hours. Not a worthwhile risk in my opinion.

Above are my real stats and this solution was tested by two other people (they confirmed it's accurate (+ - 2 races)).

This is the fastest way too get 1million fans at the end of session ten I had 955,000 fans wining every race so 7/8 more races and the achievement will be mine about 4 hours a session = 40 hours for this one achievement

End of season 10. 821K fans, 35 hours. I've won every race except 2 on Ernee. I hate that track. Team selection should not make a difference, my numbers match with Mascals. Just sayin'. I was getting a few 4,500 fans and mostly 5,500 the rest of the time. NOTHING over 5,600. I did not cast the negative vote. I just did not vote.
