Narcosis

There's an easy to get to spot on level 8: Follow Procedure.

--Turn to head west.
--Go forward (you might have to wait for three spidercrabs to pass) and head up the hill next to the lava.
--Boost over to the pillar.
--Wait for the squid to start his circling route then boost past him.

If you are lucky you'll pop the achievement. If you aren't just drop down off the cliff onto the lava and the level will restart.


Roughly 2 minutes per try with loading.

Following the walk through, near the start of weight and presence, dropping through the hole on the left to the sea floor. You'll see the octopus sat on a rock, after failing to get the timing right a few times, I tried something radical. Standing at a comfortable distance away facing the octopus, I fired a flare using the LB right on to its head.
Octopus squirts directly down into the rock it's sitting on, I just boosted about the place as i saw the ink cloud appear. Achievement unlocked.

There's an easier way without having to reload.
Chapter 10 Generator Area, go up the little hill where your green buddy stands and jump over to the pillar. You'll have 2 or 3 squids making their rounds that will eventually shoot ink at you. Simply boost back when they're about to shoot. If you get hit, simply try again.
