Wreck your car across the finish line

How to unlock the It Still Counts! achievement in NASCAR Unleashed - Definitive Guide

Here's my solution to getting this annoying little achievement.

Thanks go to Streak Leader who posted a suggestion in the other solution suggesting using the following set up

Hard Difficulty
4 Laps
Daytona Oval

This is what I did and I also set about getting as many rivals as possible during the race.

Heres my added extra advice....

During the race try to avoid getting wrecked in the earlier laps, but what you are aiming for is to be on your last legs as you go into lap 4, ideally smoking with the red sparks coming from out beneath / behind your car.

Drop to the back of the pack and travel slowly towards the finish line. Don't stop or go into reverse or it will re-spawn you.

As you get close to the finish line, go into a donut by holding RT, X and left or right.

As the AI vehicles come round to lap you, hopefully one of the rivals you've created, or another AI car will smash into you, wrecking you across the line.

It took me a couple of tries to get the right balance of my own damage level and donut location, but I got it without to much frustration.

As always I hope this helps and if you think you can add more, put something in the comments.

Great solution. The donut idea was clutch! Should be clarified that after the AI racers complete the race they continue to circle the track and your Rivals will still try to hit you. So the best way is to get damaged and then lay back for the rest of the race and then start your donuts near the finish line. Even if they don't hit you on the 1st attempt they will eventually. The rivals you made earlier will still attack even though they have finished the race.

probably the hardest achievement in the game because unlike the rest this is luck based....i was wrecked on lap 3/4 and thought maybe id luck out and get the achievement but you have to get wrecked on the last lap....what i did was went to the quick race and did a 12 race season and put the difficulty on hard and set the laps to 1 and just beat and bang til you get your car smoking and limp to the finish line and if you can get a rival or 2 slow up and hope they wreck you on the last straightaway...i was actually off the track i got wrecked but still crossed the finish line and the cheevo popped

you can also use two controllers for this cheeve. I was having a tough time myself with it. That is how I did it.

I used a modified version of this method and finally got it to work. Difficulty on hard, one race season, 4 laps on the Daytona Oval. It really helps if you can make several rivals during the race because they will be the ones much more likely to slam into you as you apply the brakes near the finish line.

its a pain like i said pretty much luck based....think it took me about an hour of just sitting by the finish line and hoping a rival hit me and not someone else

This is an annoying achievement to get, but its not that bad. I found that getting another car to hit me was pretty hard, so instead of having another car wreck me, I did it myself. I got my car dinged up pretty good until the engine was smoking and there were sparks coming off. At the last lap I fell to the back of the pack and got a decent ways behind. As the finish line approached I just drove diagonally into the wall right before the finish line. The wrecked car scene showed up, I finished the race, and the achievement popped. No need to have another car wreck you when you can do it yourself. Makes it a lot easier.

Everything that shows is in the video on what to do, this will be the most hardest one to pull off if you haven't get it on Championship Mode.

I've found the most efficient way to do this... do it in 2 player!

Track: Daytona Oval

Take controller 2 and gain a boost by drafting, then grab controller 1 and place yourself near the finish line.
Take controller 2 and boost into your car and BOOM, done.

This is probably the trickiest trophy in the game, since it's pretty tough to create the timing perfectly. You can try damaging your car a lot during the race and smashing into the wall right at the finish line, or I'd suggest using 2 controllers (preferable with a friend). It's much easier if you have a second person to help you, but you can do it by yourself as well.

For the 2-controller method, you'll want to set up a Quick Race at the Daytona Speedway Oval Track and set it up on Easy, with 1 Race and 2 Laps. Have the 2nd player join in and start out the race by controlling the 2nd player until you can generate a slingshot boost. Save the boost for the last lap, so you can try to time the 1st player going around the track to the finish line where you will smash into them with . The part that makes it tricky is that the game makes the cars always move in a continuous rolling start. If you time the 2nd player to finish the first lap (while generating a boost), then pick up the 1st controller and build up a lead, you can get them to approach the finish line at the same time. It'll take a few tries to figure out the timing, but you'll eventually get it.
