How to unlock the Diversity achievement in National Geographic Challenge! - Definitive Guide
This achievement is "diversity" and the achievement text is "You captured a Territory in each colour in a game of Explorer."
Pretty easy, and you can do this while chasing the "Hearts and Minds" achievement. The important thing you need to know here is that you need to capture a territory, not just own a territory (as in one that you got to start the game). So make sure you actively move to at least six territories and capture them.
It can speed things up if you wrangle it so you have the "Warp" ability from the start screen, so you don't have to walk through every single connection between continents.
The achievement will pop as soon as you claim the sixth required territory.

A better description would have been: You captured a Territory in each Region/Continent in a game of Explorer. You need to capture a Territory in N America, S America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia-Asia. The color refers to the color in the circles.

To clarify, I meant the developer should have given a better description. Thanks to ianthe for all the helpful solutions.

If it still unclear as to what to do, here is what I did with little to no trouble.
Start a hotseat game with 2 players (you can obviously control them both). Player going for the achievement makes their way around the map making sure you have 2 or 3 territories won for each region. If you get to a place that has a bunch of points (such as 250 or 500), deliberately miss the challenge. You'll stay on that place and can move to the 100 territories easily. Now for player 2, just win 2 territories next to each other and just move back and forth to forfeit the turn. I was at 1900 points when the "Diversity" and the "Hearts and Minds" achievements popped.
Hope this helps.
