How to unlock the Five by Five achievement in NBA 2K11 - Definitive Guide

The 5 stats you need to get a 5 or more in are points, rebounds, steals, assists, and blocks.

You can adjust sliders to make this much easier, if you do, I suggest increasing all of yours to 100, and making the CPU's zero except for the following stats (at 100):

Take Inside Shots
Take Close Shots
Attack the Basket
Look for Post Players

This makes it so that they're way more likely to drive, making it easier to use my method to get your blocks. Also I kept Pass Accuracy at 50 for the CPU, since without it they kept turning the ball over preventing your player from getting the relevant stats.

Turn manual substitutions on and pick your team and choose a player (I chose LeBron since I'm a Miami homer and his skillset, Kevin Durant and Bron I feel are the two best choices, but with the sliders it shouldn't matter too much). Edit the line-ups and put your player at Center or Power Forward.

You now basically just want to play "linebacker" and keep moving back and forth in the paint (watch out for 3-second violations!) and start gambling, if you think they're about to shoot, jump ahead of time.

Once blocks are done, you can move the player to Point Guard. On defense, play off your man and stay close to the rim. This will get you your 5 rebounds.

Steals should be almost automatic, just mob the ball carrier on his way up. You will find it difficult to miss any reasonable shot, and the same goes for your teammates.

Sorry if this is really long winded, I wanted to be thorough. Good luck!

Note: I've been asked if the quarter length of the game matters. I had the quarter length at 5 minutes, and would not suggest going much lower as it can take some time to get all your blocks and rebounds.

What quarter length did you have the game on? I ask because most achievements have to be set at 5min a quarter and if you set it lower than 5 or higher they may not give you the achievement.

I had the quarter length at 5 minutes. I would not suggest going lower than 5 minutes to make sure you have enough time to get the achievement. Going to add a note to the solution.

I would be very surprised if it did, but must admit that I did not test it.

Had quarters set to 5 minutes, and came up short 1 block. Changed Durant's height to 7 foot 6 and got everything i needed in the first half! Great solution!

I did this with the Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard. Game has to be set at 5min quarters. Go to options before you start a quick game and change sliders in your favor and the opposite for the CPU.
I do not believe this can be done against a 2nd controller, but I could be wrong, however I doubt it since alot of the achievements will only unlock against a CPU opponent.
Make sure you max out steal attempts and you can easily get as many as you want w/ D. Howard. The only challenge is getting the blocks. What I did was Quit/Save after each one and reload the save.
That way you do not waste time trying to do it all in 1 play through.
I felt Howard is the easiest to pull this off with his long arms, speed, agility, & strength.
For what it is worth I played against a bum team. The LA Clippers.
The achievement will pop up once you unlock the final stat during gameplay which has to be all of the following:

5 Points, 5 Assist, 5 Rebounds, 5 Steals, & 5 Block Shots.

It can also be done with a 2nd controller, I just did it a few minutes ago.
Very important is that the quarters must be set to 5 min minimum.

DHoward is a good choice to do it.

Set NBA rules off and first score 5 or more ponits with Howard.

After that dish out 5 assists. Setting score percentage to 100% makes it much easier though.

After this go for 5 steals. Just stand still with the player controlled by your 2nd controller and keep smashing the X-button with Howard. Should be done in 1 minute.

Same procedure with blocks. Place yourself in front of the 2nd controlled player and fire a shot with him. While getting in the air, also press Y with Howard and you will get the block.

Rebounds can easily be done by just throwing the ball with your 2nd controlled player from beyond halfcourt. Every caught ball (even without hitting the board) is counted as a rebound.

I managed to get this in the first quarter.
By doing this you can also go for the 50+ points differential win.

I don't know if this helps or not but I just finished this achievement the other day on 12 minute quarters with Atlanta's Josh Smith. All you have to do is stay as Josh the whole game and you are more than likely going to get this achievement without even having to change any sliders. I'm pretty sure he comes pretty close to doing this in real life all the time lol.

To attain this achievement, you must get five stats to the number five with one player on a team. Okay, that was a mouth full, so I'll explain in a clearer way. You have to get five stats (5 shots, 5 steals, 5 rebounds, 5 blocks, or 5 assists) with one player on your team. Shots are simple. Blocks are straightfoward. For steals, have the sliders to 100 for steals and 0 for fouls. For assists, simply throw an alley to your team mate on offense. To do so, hold LT and press B. For rebounds, have the opposing team's shot success at 0 but taking shots at 100.

To make this simple, and to make attaining other achievements for this game easier, I recommend taking the time to edit the sliders to your favor beforehand.

When you load the game and enter the menu, look for the tab that states "Options." Once there, find the tab that says "My NBA Settings." Next, simply go to the tab that states "Game Sliders," and put the attributes to your favor as well as downgrading the computer's stat.

When you have finished, just back out and go to a quick game, in which case the game will automatically save the sliders for future games. To disable or reset the sliders to how they originally were after you have attained your achievements, just go back to the sliders and it will give you the ability to customize it to default sliders.

To get this achievement, you can just play a quick game with either a computer or two controller method. But note that if you are playing against a computer, you cannot switch teams or sign in a controller or the stats will be disable. Same as the two controller method; once the game starts, you cannot switch teams or sign out a controller when already playing with a friend.

*Note* You do not have to finish the game to get the achievement. You just need to get the necessary requirements during the game. Once you get the stats you need, the achievement will pop up.

You can change the difficulty to Rookie but it isn't actually necessary when the sliders are in your favor. If you are going for other achievements, I recommend changing the time limit of the quarters to as long as you need seeing as to how you do no have to finish the game more many of the achievements.

Finally, it is slightly annoying when the player you are using magically gets substituted. In the begging of the game I highly recommend going to the menu, then "Coaching," then "Coach Settings," and putting the following to MANUAL: Timeout, Substitution, Late Game Fouling.

This trophy is best done with a center, such as Dwight Howard. You need to have 5+ in five statistical areas. The most common is points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. Focus on getting blocks and rebounds first as they are the most challenging. To block or get a rebound use , though to block you need to time you block just as the shooter is going for their shot. Next, focus on steals. To steal the ball press . Lastly, focus on points and assists.

If you have a stat line that looks like this for your player: 5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assist, 5 steals and 5 blocks, then you will get the trophy.

This must be done in a game with at least 5 minute quarters. Sliders can be adjusted and difficulty altered. Can be done with two controllers and rules adjusted (shot clock off). This will not unlock in My Player mode.

This achievement is probably one of the trickiest in the game. Many players will get 5 or more in 4 different stats, but will struggle getting 5 blocks with a single player. For this achievement, I suggest rookie difficulty with 12 minute quarters to make sure you can get those 5 blocks. I did this with Houston Rockets attempting to do it with Yao Ming, but ended up finding it easier with Luis Scola. Someone like Chris Bosh on the Heat may be the perfect candidate.

Put all your shooting, rebounding, blocks and stealing percentages up to 100 and the oppositions shooting down to 0. You may want to alter a few more to make it easier, but it is possible with this set-up. I have covered points, steals and assists so they are simple enough. Playing with a PF will make this a lot easier on you. For rebounds, let the opposition get a shot anywhere inside the 3 point line. They will almost never get it in, so control the PF and make sure he is under the hoop when the shot goes up. Being tall, he should easily get 5 rebounds. Now the real task is making sure to get 5 blocks as well. Controlling the PF, you have a couple of options on how to achieve this, roaming or drifting. Roaming is where you stay on your man but be prepared to sprint off him if a player looks like they are open and will have a shot or the shot clock is running down and a player currently has the ball. If you are there and they put up a shot, the majority of the time you will block it. Drifting is where you leave your player slightly open so they pass him the ball. Once they start to pass, it run up to them and either go for the block if they shoot or defend them loosely until the clock runs down and they have to shoot.

It may take some time perfecting your own technique to get the blocks. I got it on my second game attempting it once I figured out how to do it. Sliders are VITAL in getting this.
