How to unlock the Live the Dream achievement in NBA 2K11 - Definitive Guide

The way I did this achievement was editing the players on each of the bulls teams you had to use and edit there skills and height etc. So making Jordon and the rest of the team all 7'6 and putting all there stats up too 99. Then I would find out what year team I would be playing against and would make them all 5'3. That there should be enough to win with ease and score as pleased since nobody will be able to contest your shot. There are 2 challenges where you have to hold a certain player to under X amount of points. So you simply take a few extra minutes to not only adjust there height but there shooting as well. I will list below what teams you need to edit for each of the challenges.

1) The Arrival- '85-'86 Bulls and '85-'86 Celtics.
2) 69 Points- '89-'90 Bulls and '89-'90 Cavaliers
3) Shootout- '89-'90 Bulls and '89-'90 Hawks. Also editing Dominique Wilkins shooting stats will make it easier to out score him.(He only scored twice for me)
4) Bad Boys- '89-'90 Bulls and '89-'90 Pistons
5) 1991 NBA Finals- '90-'91 Bulls and '90-'91 Lakers
6) The Shrug- '91-'92 Bulls and '91-'92 Trial Blazers. Also taking down Drexler's shooting stats will come in handy since you need to keep him under 20 points.
7) Double Nickel- '94-'95 Bulls and '94-'95 Knicks
8) Fathers Day Victory- '95-'96 Bulls and '95-'96 Super Sonics
9) The Flue Game- '96-'97 Bulls and '96-'97 Jazz
10) Michael's Last Dance- '97-'98 Bulls and '97-'98 Jazz. Also Editing the other teams ball handling skills will help out in the 4 steals you will need to get.

There you have it! Seems like alot of work but makes these challenges a walk in the park. Any Questions just let me know.

Hi burst, sorry it has been awhile since I have put the game in so I can't remember the menu layout. But look for rosters under options maybe or something like that. Once you find there rosters you just simply click on the player you wish to edit and click on there name and should be an option for edit player. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, you cannot adjust sliders during the Jordan Challenge games, which can make things a bit tougher. What I'm doing is setting the difficulty to rookie and game style to casual, doing this makes scoring and stealing the ball much easier.

I'm finding that the easiest way to score with Jordan is to drive to the basket and attempt a layup/dunk, and if I'm stopped short of the basket I go for a short jumper. Many of the challenges want you to shoot a high percentage with Mike, so try and avoid long jumpers/threes to maintain a good field goal percentage.

Once you start scoring big with Michael, the AI will start doubling you, at this point its best to go for any assist goals required.

The 'Shootout' and 'Shrug' challenges require you to hold Dominique Wilkins and Clyde Drexler to a certain amount of points. If you're having trouble defending these two, I suggest double-teaming them at all times, even when they don't have the ball. This prevents them from getting open, and encourages the AI to take a shot with someone else, and with the difficulty lowered and the over-powered bulls defense, the chances of their teammates missing the shots are in your favor.

Several of the challenges require Jordan to get a certain amount of rebounds, and if you're having problems doing this, you can put Jordan at the PF or Center position and play as someone else while the AI works the boards with Mike.

Another note - the 'Shrug' challenge wants you to score 6 three point shots in the first half. Since this challenge doesn't require a field goal %, just jack up 3's until you get 6 in the first half. Just be ready on transition defense in case you miss and Drexler gets the ball.

Also, you can't turn off fouls, so be careful as Mike when you go for a steal, as its 6 fouls and your out. The quarters being 8 minutes long doesn't help either.

All challenges but the first require you to win the game. As long as you feed the ball to Jordan and play decent defense, you'll blow out all your opponents.

Good luck.

if you edit the teams, it wont let you start a game without returning them to the default ones

NAVMEIST3R, you have to complete all the objectives in each challenge in one try.

Or instead you can just go to the pause menu and go to defense and select double team at all times on Wilkins. I triple teamed him every time he touched the ball and held him to 6 points.

IrishBeatdown - I did something similar with the Drexler challenge. Bunged 3 guys on him (including Pippen) and he struggled to get to double figures.

Didn't need to do any roster editing or the like.

Mr Clutch is correct as I experimented with a similar method in one of the challenges (involving limiting Nique Wilkins' scoring). I lower Nique's shooting abilities across the board and he couldn't hit a jumper in game to save his life.

If you want to whip through these challenges easily, that'sthe way to do it. But its probably better to enjoy the challenges for what they are - challenges.

If you're having trouble with the challenges that require you to keep a specific opponent (Drexler or Wilkins) from scoring, make sure that you set your defensive settings as follows:
* Set the player guarding him to Pippen
* Set double-team to Always
* Set ball pressure to Play tight
* Set off ball pressure to Deny ball

Then play as Jordan and use him to double-team together with Pippin. Another option is to purposely give another player of the opponent a lot of space, to encourage him to take open shots. Lastly, make sure that when you have the ball, you use up most of the shot clock. Every second the ball is in your hand is a second where Drexler/Wilkins cannot score.

I played on casual and 60 game speed and just destroyed with MJ. Nothing gets hard until "The Shrug". The only challenge that made me try twice. What I did to keep Drexler under 20 was put Pippen on him in the defensive settings, made him always be double teamed and deny the ball type defense. I wanted to get the rest of the team to shoot and not Drexler so for everyone else, I set the defensive settings on "Sag Off" so they would shoot when they're open. Hope this helps, cause it did for me.

There are a total of 10 challenges. You have to reach each requirement per challenge before you are allowed to move on to the next challenge. You do have the option of in-game saving as these games have 8 minute quarters, and in-game saving does not affect the trophy. These challenges can be difficult, and if you are struggling then edit the rosters for the opposing team and the Bulls roster in the challenge to make reaching each requirement easier. Also, you can change the difficulty from Pro to Rookie in-game by options > My NBA Settings > Gameplay.

Below are the 10 Jordan Challenges.

The Jordan Challenge
1.) The Arrival -- Jordan made his mark with this 63 point playoff game against a heavily favored Celtics team.

  • When: April 20, 1986. Game 2, 1st round playoffs vs. Celtics
  • Goal 1: Score 63+ points
  • Goal 2: Shoot 50%+ from the field

2.) 69 Points -- This time Jordan gets the win by dropping 69 points and putting a dent in the Cavaliers' playoff plans.

  • When: March 28, 1990. Regular season game vs. Cavs
  • Goal 1: Score 69+ points
  • Goal 2: Shoot 50%+ from the field
  • Goal 3: Win the game

3.) Shootout -- Jordan and Dominique Wilkins face off in some of the all-time greatest scoring performances of the era.

  • When: Any date in 1990. Regular season game vs. Hawks
  • Goal 1: Outscore Dominique
  • Goal 2: Hold Dominique under 25 Points
  • Goal 3: Win the game

4.) Bad Boys -- Jordan showed the Pistons and the world that no defensive strategy could stop him for long.

  • When: May 26, 1990. Game 3, Eastern Conference Finals vs. Pistons
  • Goal 1: Score 47+ points
  • Goal 2: Win the game

5.) 1991 NBA Finals -- Jordan silenced the doubters by coming back from a game one embarrassment to thrash the Lakers in these Finals.

  • When: June 2 thru June 12, 1991 vs. Lakers
  • Goal 1: Average 31.0+ points
  • Goal 2: Shoot 55%+ from the field
  • Goal 3: Win the series

6.) The Shrug -- Just to prove a point, Jordan sets the tone for the series by dominating the first half of this first Finals game.

  • When: June 3, 1992. Game 1, 1st round playoffs vs. Blazers
  • Goal 1: Score 35+ points in the first half
  • Goal 2: Make 6+ threes in the first half
  • Goal 2: Hold Drexler to under 20 points
  • Goal 3: Win the Game

7.) Double Nickel -- After a stint with the bat, Jordan returns to New York to tear up the Knicks for 55 points and an unforgettable pass.

  • When: March 18, 1995. Regular season game vs. Knicks
  • Goal 1: Score 55+ points
  • Goal 2: Shoot 55%+ from the field
  • Goal 3: Win the game

8.) Father's Day Victory -- Michael ran the table over the entire league but this fourth title would prove to be just as special as his first.

  • When: June 16, 1996. Game 6, 1996 Finals (last game of series as Bulls won 4-2) vs. Sonics
  • Goal 1: Score 22+ points
  • Goal 2: Grab 9+ rebounds
  • Goal 3: Win the game

9.) The Flu Game -- A very ill Jordan still manages to both dominate the game and hit the winning shot in the last few seconds.

  • When: June 11, 1997. Game 6, 1997 Finals (not the last game of the series as it went to 7) vs. Jazz
  • Goal 1: Score 38+ points
  • Goal 2: Grab 7+ rebounds
  • Goal 3: Win the game

10.) Michael's Last Dance -- With one final resounding shot, Jordan seals both his legacy and the fate of the Jazz's championship hopes.

  • When: June 14, 1998. Game 6, 1998 Finals vs. Jazz
  • Goal 1: Score 45+ points
  • Goal 2: Get 4+ steals

This is the new mode in this years game. The Jordan Challenge takes you through the 10 biggest moments of MJ's stellar career. Sliders can't be adjusted, making this slightly harder than expected but the difficulty settings can still be altered in your favour. Once the game starts you can pause the game and edit the settings. Turn the difficulty to rookie and the game style to casual if you want it to be as easy as possible.

IGN has a comprehensive guide explaining how to beat all 10 challenges. It can be found here.
