How to unlock the My Every Day Player achievement in NBA 2K11 - Definitive Guide

Just keep playing games in My Player mode and get positive grades. Each game you play well will earn you 1-2 minutes more playing time per game. If you're on a team with a good player starting in the same position as you, you could request a trade to a team that is weaker at that position. I was a PG drafted by Chicago and had to play behind Derrick Rose so I request a trade to Minnesota who was much weaker at the position. Once your minutes are higher than the current starter at your position you will take his starting spot. To see where you stand for playing time you can check "My Minutes" from the My Player menu.

For those having trouble getting the achievement to pop, you need to play out a game after becoming a starter, Key word being "play" not simulate. Many of the My Player mode achievements don't pop until you play another game after the requirements have been met.

you should have gotten it. Once I surpassed Jonny Flynn in minutes as a point guard, I became a starter and got the achievement. Did you play out a game after becoming a starter? For some achievements to pop you have to play another game.

Boosting endurance will help you get some more minutes aswell.

Mine popped at the beginning of my first starting game, and it happened the first time my minutes where higher than those of the previous starter. Easy enough.

to those of you who haven't gotten the achievement, are you playing out games after becoming a starter or are you simulating them? The achievement should pop when you play (not simulate) your next game.

What about the settings? How many minutes for the game did you set it to? 5? 7? The full 12?

Bump the quarters to 8 minutes. Hopefully you are a pg and continue to cherry pick and find your teammates in the half court offense for assists. Just keep on scoring loads of points each game and eventually your coaching staff will have no other choice but put you in the starting lineup. The achievement should unlock the very first game you are a starter. Mine unlocked when it showed my player walking through the tunnel before the game.

To become a starter in the NBA, you NEED to average an A or better teammate grade, with good numbers stat wise from points, rebounds, and assists. This can take some time depending on the position you have chosen, and the starting player you are battling with to start for your team. If you notice you are slowly gaining minutes and the starter is losing minutes, then you are on the path to becoming a starter. If you feel you will not become a starter for your team, then you can request a trade, but be careful as your current team may not send you to one your preferred destinations.

When you start your NBA career, expect to be playing quite a few games on the bench. When you get your chance to take to the court, make sure you play well (by getting a good team mate rating) so the coaching staff recognize your efforts. Either through injury to the player in your position or your constant good results, you will make the starting line-up. Of course it will be harder on some teams. For example, playing as a SG for the Heat will make your job tough and perhaps requesting a trade to a weaker team will improve your chances.
