How to unlock the 4-Point Line achievement in NBA 2K12 - Definitive Guide

You can use two controllers for this. Set up your 3 point shooter at the 3 point line and make sure youve set your 3 point make slider to 100 in the game settings. Set the defender a few steps back. Once you're ready hit select on the defending controller to get that guy to intentionally foul, then quickly switch to the other controller and shoot. With 3 point make at 100 you should make it most of the time, and just make sure you can make the shooter you're using free throw.

I wanted to say this worked like a charm. Worked on the first shot I took in the game. Great heads up on how to do this. Thanks!

Sorry for my bad english.

1. Delete all your NBA 2K12 files from your Xbox.
2. Install game from the disk.
3. Disconnect your internet connection before first launch of the game.
4. 3pt slider must be at 100, free throw slider too.
5. Try to do it with main solution.

This is actually quite a bit easier than I thought it was going to be, I actually got it in the very first game I played while going for the majority of the other game achievements.

First, for those of you not as familiar with basketball: A 4-point play occurs when a player is fouled on a 3-point attempt, but makes the basket. He then gets the opportunity at a free throw, and if he makes it, he completes the 4-point play.

Now, the main thing you need to worry about is setting the sliders in the correct way. For player settings, go ahead and max out most of the shooting categories, especially the one for 3-pt shooting, but since you'll probably be working towards other achievements, go ahead and set the other ones accordingly. For the computer, make sure to set their shooting foul frequency to the maximum, as well as some of the categories that would make the defender more aggressive, such as on-ball defense. Stealing and stuff should be set to the minimum for the computer so they don't swat the ball away.

Lastly, set the free throw difficulty to the minimum, so that when you finally get the foul called, you won't accidentally miss the free throw.

Now, the last part might take quite a few attempts, it seems to take quite a bit for the computer to finally land a foul on you. Use any good 3-point shooter on the team of your choice, since your sliders are in your favor, you should hit practically any attempt with a player that is good at shooting the 3. Pump fake is your friend, so tap the X button to try and get the defender on you. You can do this multiple times if the first time doesn't have much of an effect, but if the first pump fake doesn't do anything, subsequent ones probably won't either.

After awhile, one of your pump fakes should either get the defender in the air towards you, or if there's a bit of distance between the two of you, they will lunge towards you. When they do one of these, taking the shot has a higher chance of drawing a foul. If the foul is drawn, and you make the shot along with the free throw, achievement unlocked!

Any suggestions on how to improve this solution, go ahead and post in the comments, and I will edit it in.

I wanna add, that it has to be done in pro or higher...tried it 5 times in rookie and it didn't work out, once in pro - first try and 20 GS ( with 2 controllers though )

This works great, except the first time I forgot to make the free throws easier and I missed it. Got it my second try though.

The only setting that matters for this achievement is the quarter length. 5 minute quarters are minimum for this achievement.
Other then that, you can turn off all NBA rules, and turn User/Computer Sliders up/down.

This can be one of the few frustrating achievements in 2k12. For this achievement you want to have free throw difficulty down to 0. User 3 point success to 100, cpu contest shots to 100. Also you want to have Shooting fouls turned on, and frequency to 100.

Pump faking is your friend here. Try a few pump fakes to get your defender in the air, once he jumps, shoot the 3. You can also try running into the 3 point shot, and the into the defender.
This can be done with 2 players, so it would be possible to have a friend foul you as you shoot the ball. The 3 pointer needs to be made, and you need to complete the play by hitting the free throw.

Easier version of 4-point Line from 2K11: 2 controllers
Win the tipoff with the controller getting the achievement.
Give ball to shooter (PG,SG,SF,etc.)
Shoot and intentional foul (using the back button) with both controllers at the same time.
Keep repeating until shot goes in. Then make the free throw.
