How to unlock the My Big Eight-O achievement in NBA 2K12 - Definitive Guide

Super simple achievement, but it can be a bit time consuming. In MyPlayer mode, you get skill points for performing well in a game, hitting career milestones, etc. You can use these skill points on the MyPlayer home page, in the skill points area. The fastest way I've found to increase your overall rating is to first upgrade your offensive and defensive awareness. Those can be found under the "Mental" section. If you choose not to upgrade those, that's fine too. You'll still get the achievement when your MyPlayer reaches 80 overall.

Whoa now buddy, no need for the negative vote and all. I never played MyPlayer in 2k11, so I can't possibly compare it to that. This is a site for helping people out, which I'm trying to do if someone doesn't know how to go about getting this achievement as quickly as possible. No need to have a temper tantrum.

quick heads up, as well as off and def awareness take all the skills that are low up (less than 50) as your overall is an average of all stats, therefore increasing the lowest ones increases average.

It is def the fastest way i have found as well! I was upgrading my offensive attributes and not going up hardly at all. I started upgrading my OFF and DEF awareness and went from a 63 to a 71 before my rookie year was done. I have maxed out OFF and DEF awareness now at 99 so i will have to grind out the other attributes. Your player gets a lot better from upgrading the awareness too. I went from scoring 2-4 points a game and grabbing 2 reb off the bench to leading my team with 17 pts and grabbing 6 reb off the bench as a PF.

Just follow the video on youtube(NBA 2k12 My Player How to Get the Best Team), trade all players you want on to one team, no trade under contact for all players except like 2 so they trade those players for you, and make sure you leave a bad player on that team so you can take his place once you get traded. Then, create your my player, get drafted on to that team or get traded to that team, evolve into the starting position, and win!!! This is the BEST way to win a lot of games and to win a championship. Thanks for watching!!! Like, comment about how this helped you, and subscribe!!!

When setting up your My Player, be sure to choose a PG and make him as tall as you can (6'7'' is the max). This way, not only will you have the ball on each possession, you can also post up against smaller guards, making layups and paint points pretty easy to get. Also, have him be an "all-around" player, as your stats won't be great in one category, but decent in all of them. Upgrade your Offensive and Defensive awareness ratings first, then concentrate on Mid-range jumpshots, inside scoring, layups, and steals. I got this near the end of my rookie season, while playing just key games.

This will be a bit of a grind for those who don't enjoy the My Player mode. Complete all drills, Do well in each game, Save milestones for Key Games if possible. Maxing out Offensive awareness and Defensive awareness will increase your rating quicker. After those are maxed out continue to max out stats that play to your position.

Thankfully In 2k12 you start My Player at a 60-63 overall. At 15 games into my season i was already a 67 (without putting anything to awareness) Look for this to take anywhere from 40-70 games (depending on what you spend your points on).

The trophy is not difficult. In order to get a rating of 80, you need to spend your SP (Skill Point) on leveling up your player's attributes. Most likely, you will receive this trophy during Season 3, maybe earlier. You receive Skill Points at the end of the match, namely: for completing tasks (which are associated with the Check! trophy), winning the match, random tasks, etc. Try to score as many points, rebounds, assists, blocks as possible and ensure that your teammate grade is A or A+. After key games your experience is multiplied by x2.

To improve your results, in the settings, set the simulation time to 5 minutes, and your game time to 12 minutes, thereby you can significantly improve your performance during your game time.
