Camby 12/17/08

Camby 12/17/08

Get 27 rebounds in Chicago with Marcus Camby (NBA) in a single solo game.

How to unlock the Camby 12/17/08 achievement in NBA Live 10 - Definitive Guide

As stated in the achievement description play as the Clippers (Visitors) against the Bulls (Home).

Start the game player locked to any player but Camby. Blake Griffin would be a good choice if you have not yet received the Rookie Record achievement. Spend the game taking shots with your locked player and allowing the opposing team to take their shots. With Camby being controlled by the CPU he will accumulate quite a few rebounds, and should hit 27 in the second quarter.

The achievement will not unlock when Camby hits 27. At this point switch your player lock to Camby and get 1 rebound and the achievement will pop.

Great solution. What I did was keep the other center away from the post. And in setting turn the Bulls shooting at 0. So that you get sometimes 3 or 4 rebounds in a row.

Make sure you play as the Clippers and select the Bulls as the home team.

The easiest way I found to do this was to select player lock on Camby in the pregame menu, turn off all fouls and out of bounds. When the Bulls take the ball, stay down by your basket, and when your team gets the ball back, shoot a full court shot and let Camby collect the easy rebound.

Rinse and repeat until you have 27.

This does not work. If it is an airball that he grabs, it isn't counting it as a rebound.

What worked for me: 12 min quarters, all sliders in user's favor, no rules. I would manually pick Camby after each play and put him right in front of the basket. Right when the opponent shot, I would switch off of him by pushing A (I didn't care who I was switching to). By doing this, Camby wouldn't try to block since I was controlling him when the shot went up, but then the AI would get the rebound when I switched off. This worked on 80% of the plays that the computer ran. I would then huck the ball down so the opponent would get it back faster. You do need to manually get at least one rebound (the 27th or beyond) to trigger the achievement.

Full Court Out of Bounds did not work. I suggest you do as fisher81 said with turning off all fouls and out of bounds. In addition to this you should also turn off all Rules. Turning everything off keeps game moving with no stoppage of clock, except for the occasional Chicago Timeout. Next make the other 4 players on the team short players (PG/SG) . Also "MAX" out all User Settings and "ZERO" out all CPU Settings. Place Camby under the basket on all Defensive plays and jump up for rebounds. With CPU settings lowered shots will rarely drop unless it is a drive with Rose or an open 3-Point shooter. Had Game set to "ROOKIE" with 10 min Qtrs. Took me 17 minutes of gametime to get achievement.

I'm going to offer a more upfront insight on this achievement and this isn't to say that the other solutions aren't sufficient but I found my own method to be fairly painless.

First off, you must play as the away LA Clippers against the home Chicago bulls.
Secondly, Change the lineups to this,
PG Mardy Collins
SG Sebastian Telfair
SF Baron Davis
PF Eric gordon
C Camby

The specific positions aren't important as long as Camby is C and Collins is a PG. This is to make the post players short and the 6'6" Collins a PG, so he stays outside.

Adjust the sliders for rebounding to your favor and against the CPU and any other sliders you see fit.

Then make sure it's set to Rookie difficulty and 12 min quarters. Change the rules to no defensive 3 seconds, no foul outs, manual substitutions, and the foul out to 9 just in case.

Once the game starts you need to adjust the defensive setup to either a 3-2 zone or 1/4th court man. This makes it where Camby will usually be along in the post and can be used to rebound. I always switched to Camby on Defense and stood right in front of the basket to get rebounds. Then on Offense I would drive down and shoot a 3, let them get the ball and just get back to other side of the court. Now, build a sizable lead and this will usually put pressure on the Bulls to where they will take a lot of shots for you to rebound. I netted 27 with about 4 minutes left before halftime.

Again, this is for people who are more upfront and want to play the game. If you can time your rebounds and learn to jump at the right place then this solution is for you

This isn't so much about the opposing team as it is about your own team. I tried the solutions listed here and ended up with 25 after the whole 48min game so I was slightly annoyed. So to eliminate luck from the equation (well most of it) I made a slight variation.

You are playing as LA Clippers away and Chicago Bulls. Don't worry about the bulls but with the LA Clippers you want to go to Rosters and edit players. For every player except Camby put their offensive and defensive rebounds stat to zero and Camby's to 99. What this means is that everytime there is an opportunity for a rebound Camby will be extremely more likely than the other players to recognize the opportunity and be able to get to the ball and make the rebound. Your team mates will still get some when they are right underneath the ball but this way I could get 20 in the first qtr so clearly made a huge difference. Oh and just lock the best other player so he stays out of the way and watch a dvd . Everytime Camby gets the ball press x to shoot the whole court and give it back to the other team and keep repeating.

Hope that helps if you are having trouble :)

Play as LA Clippers against anyone and put Marcus Camby on player lock.

The best way to do this is to stay under the basket you're shooting towards. Let the other team have possession then when you get it, shoot from wherever you are (with Rules off there will be no "Out of Bounds". Let the ball go to the back of the court then you can pick up the easy rebound. Repeat this until you get 27 (you can check your progress on the 'Stats' menu when paused)
