How to unlock the Ultimate Ironman achievement in NCAA Football 12 - Definitive Guide

What I did for this achievement was choose a QB and a LB. Before I started playing I changed the settings and turned off offsides and offensive holding.
When I was on offense I would audible it to a passing play, this way I could max out my QB stats.
On defense I would stand directly next to the QB and get a sack or tackle for a loss.
Within 4 games I was 5 stars on both offense and defense so I simmed the rest, when I finished signing day the achievement popped.

Since there is no way to disable the encroachment penalty, avoid touching any of the offensive players when you're running over to stand next to the QB. Otherwise you'll draw the 5 yard penalty every time. Your solution worked perfect!

Where do you turn the offsides off? All I can find is the option to turn down how often the CPU will do it?

I've gotten both my offense and defense up to 5 star, simming until the end of the season, and no achievement is popping, not even the one for just getting to 5 star.

I myself chose to go with a Quarterback on Offense, and a Cornerback on defense.

With the QB I kept consistently passing and making touchdowns, and within 4 to 5 games I got my five stars.

For CB it was much easier. My first game I got my five star rating and I did virtually nothing. Make a few tackles and you'll get it your first game.

The achievement will pop once you've signed with a college for either QB or CB.

Please tell me if I am wrong on any of this, and I will correct myself.

This is my second video for this game. It shows a quick and easy way to cheat and get most of the achievements in Road to Glory. I hope it can help you.

First, try following Craze Killer's guide. If that works for you, then give him the up vote and go on with life. (Although I don't know how you can audible in RTG at the high school level - I was never able to audible during that part of RTG.)

This guide is for those of you having trouble with this achievement unlocking. Here's what I did:

Basically I followed the same initial starting settings as CRAZE. I chose QB/ROLB, and I turned offsides off. I didn't see the need to turn off offensive holding, as I didn't get called for any penalties during my entire run (beyond occasionally getting an encroachment by running into someone while trying to set up next to the opposing team's QB).

I would then play at least half of each game, getting some decent QB stats, and racking up huge ROLB stats. I was a 5 star ROLB within two games, and a 5 star QB within five. I then saved my game, and simmed to the playoffs (just in case, something weird happened).

It didn't, so I started the playoffs. I would get a lead in each playoff game, and then sim each quarter (and occasionally just each possession) until I was sure I was going to win. This got me to the championship game (Game 4 was my championship game - I'm assuming it is the same for everyone else).

Now this is key: I saved the game before starting the championship game (I was playing in the state of Texas, so this was before the fourth game), and then I saved game IMMEDIATELY after winning the championship (two different saves, with different names, just in case that wasn't clear).

When I won the championship game I got the achievement:
NCAA Football 12High School ChampThe High School Champ achievement in NCAA Football 12 worth 22 pointsPlay and win the High School Championship Game in any state.
- however, the two 5-star achievements ("Best in Class" & "Ultimate Ironman" didn't pop when I selected a school (I selected a school as a QB this first attempt).

So I reloaded the save from right after the championship game. This time I selected a school where I was a 1st stringer (and picked ROLB this time). This netted me the achievement:
NCAA Football 12Taking the SnapsThe Taking the Snaps achievement in NCAA Football 12 worth 19 pointsBecome a starter in Road to Glory Mode.
- but still no "Best in Class" or "Ultimate Ironman".

So I reloaded the save from right before the championship game, and simmed my way to the win. Then I selected a school (this time I went with QB again), and the two achievements:

NCAA Football 12Best in ClassThe Best in Class achievement in NCAA Football 12 worth 20 pointsFinish High School as a 5 star prospect in Road to Glory.

and

NCAA Football 12Ultimate IronmanThe Ultimate Ironman achievement in NCAA Football 12 worth 99 pointsFinish High School as a 5 star prospect in Road to Glory on both offense and defense.

popped.

I have no idea why I had to jump through all these hoops, but my guess (and it's only a guess) is it's the normal EA bs, where they don't handle achievements properly, and the act of getting other achievements in conjunction with this one causes some kind of achievement error.

Anyhow, if you are having difficulty getting it to pop (as I did), this is how I got it.

Good luck!!

MISSABLE

In order to achieve this trophy you must be a 5* prospect on both offense and defense at the end of your high school season. Make sure that when you set up your RTG that you have a primary position on offense and a secondary position on defense. If you choose QB for your offensive position, you can simulate all of your offensive plays as you will easily be a 5* prospect by the end of the year. As far as defense, you can either choose to play all the snaps and become a 5* prospect by the end of the year or you can edit your RTG settings so there is no offsides so you can be in the backfield before the ball is snapped to sack the quarterback or tackle him for a loss every play. Depending on how many tackles/sacks you get per game, this method should only take you 2 games max. Doing this legitimately is quite a challenge.

NOTE: You can buy the Five Star player unlocks from the PS store for $2.99 for one position or $5.99 for all positions. Once you finish the high school season, the trophy will unlock.

Using the character you made for Ironman Performance, finish off the season while doing really good at both positions. The achievement will unlock after the last high school game. You will also unlock the Best in Class achievement by doing this.
