How to unlock the Notorious achievement in Need for Speed: Undercover - Definitive Guide
Confirmed. Playing 119 multi-player games can be done in private match.
Set it up like this:
Max car tier: 1
Mode : Circuit - 2 laps
Track : Jackson & Veteran
Do it with two people, each game takes 1 minute, and lobby time, 20 seconds.
Way faster than the Cops and Robbers method, 6 mintue games.
Or leaving your xbox on??.......

Thanks much quicker than the other solutions, though it may take more than 119 races to get it i had 27 online ranked games played and i must have done 95 races before it unlocked.

I just unlocked this achievement and I can tell you that DNF's do count as long as you are still in the race when the timer runs out. I had about 30 DNF's while racing just because of the fact that the people I raced against used boss cars and would finish over 30 seconds ahead of me. But the achievement still unlocked unlocked right at 119 races. The only thing that doesn't count are disconnects.
The fastest way to get races done is by playing race mode only. Most races are around 2-3 minutes long.
EDIT: The Need for Speed website no longer offers the "My NFS" service that previously allowed you to see personal stats for each game. It looks as if there is now no way to accurately check the number of online races you have completed.

For this achievement, i thought i would have to restart from the very beginning as my save game was deleted off my hard-drive, but i can conform that your previous stats are saved, because when i restarted i only started with doing the races as i had everything else, and doing this i had only done about 60 races when the achievement popped.
I can also conform that DNF's DO COUNT as i had a few of them within the 60 races.
These can be done in private races with a friend, as i done in both ranked and private and it all counted.
Also this isn't a solution it is only a bit of useful info i thought people might want to know.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE
Normal Method - Just race. DNF doesn't count towards this so you actually need to race. This is a very time consuming trophy.
Quick method - Put on Cops N' Robbers and stay idle, that counts and there is no position. It counts matches not rounds though. This is the easier option and I am sure most people would prefer to do it that way.
As of late the servers have become pretty unreliable so you are more likely to get disconnected now, check back to the game regularly if you're doing the quick method.
