Go into Be A GM Mode, and then you can sim through playing the prospects game, entry draft, and free agent signings. Pre-Season games start in mid-september (mine was on 17th) and will be marked by a pink triangle in the corner. Select the game you want to play, make the settings easier if you need to and just play the game and score at least one (1) goal without giving up one. Achievement will unlock when you return to the menu after the game if you win.

Start GM mode and get to the preseason. Simply start a game on Rookie and win. Sliders can be adjusted.
