How to unlock the Happy 20th EA SPORTS™! achievement in NHL 12 - Definitive Guide

This achievement is pretty straight forward all you have to do is start up a BE A PRO season then choose START IN CHL next pick the team you want to be on I chose Saint Johns Sea Dogs as soon as you score 20 goals achievement pops. FYI you cannot simulate this achievement.

The achievement description is horrible. The first time I tried this, I selected "BE A CHL PRO". That didn't work. The second time I tried this, I did BE A PRO MODE > BE A PRO. I then thought I made a mistake as I had selected a WHL team. That did not affect the achievement though and I popped it playing as the Vancouver Giants on Pro difficulty with the sliders adjusted in my favor.

Once you pop it, sim to the CHL prospect game in Mid-January and play it. You'll earn the "Top Prospect" achievement as well.

Just for some added clarification, the achv does NOT seem to work if you do Be A Pro CHL mode...you need to be in the regular BaP and start in CHL like the guide says...also the only way to get to the Memorial Cup.

Is it difficulty dependent?

Okay. So when I scored 20th goal I did not get the achievement. I was pissed. And I forgot I did simulate one game by leaving the game early. My pro must of scored a goal or two. So after that game I left the be a pro mode, without saving. And loaded it up again played same gain and I ended up scoring 3. After the game achievement popped up.

No one seems to want to confirm what I said, but I scored 25 goals in early release and 25 goals with a different player when the game launched, both in CHL Be a Pro, and no achv. I played normal Be a Pro, and as soon as I finished my game where I scored my 20th, the achv popped. I used 25 goals as a milestone because it is tracked in your stats.

First of all, Start "a be a pro" season...
Not "be a pro CHL" or "be a pro NHL" Its very important

Start ur season in CHL with ur Pro

To help you ajust slider in ur avantage

Do not sim any games before this achievement. Score 20 goals at the beginging of the season and when achieve pop sim the rest to the mid of january to do the next achievement "Top propect"

Note : Sorry 4 my bad english... purpose i hope to help you.

EvilQc is correct in making sure you select "Be a Pro". The achievement will not pop if you pick CHL Pro. I thought I had made a second mistake when I had selected a WHL team after choosing Be a Pro. That did not affect the achievement though and I popped it playing as the Vancouver Giants on Pro difficulty with the sliders adjusted in my favor.

Once you pop it, do as EvilQc suggests and sim to the CHL prospect game in Mid-January and play it. You'll earn the "Top Prospect" achievement as well.

Here is the easiest way to get this achievement. Create your own player, start in the CHL then start playing games. At the beginning of each game change the gameplay settings to below:

General:
Fatigue recovery human: MAX
Injury occurrence human: None
Puck control: MAX
Player acceleration human: MAX

Shooting:
Shot accuracy human: MAX
Shot power human: MAX
Slap shot accuracy human: MAX
One timer accuracy: MAX

Goalies:
Goalie screen effect CPU: MAX
Goalie reaction speed CPU: None

I needed to change these settings each game. I scored 3-4 goals a game with these settings.

Achievement pops at the end of the game when you get your 20th goal.

FYI if you change these settings in the main menu you don't have to change them again. The game will save your settings for you saving you a TON of time.

You have to be in the CHL. You CANNOT sim as you actually have to play for any goals you score to count. The easiest way to score goals is to adjust the sliders. Refer to the settings in the road map. Score 20 goals, and the trophy appears after the game.

You need to go to the menu and click - Pro Mode, Pro, New, NXL Draft. This is exactly the CHL mode. Here we literally play 5 games and score 20 goals before winning the Memorial Trophy.

Pucks scored by your pro player during the simulation do not count, only those scored by you personally.
