How to unlock the Glim Reaper achievement in Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - Definitive Guide

Glims are the little orbs you'll see dropping around the battlefield, either from getting a "Nice!" during combat, or from Mr. Drippy as a bit of a pick-me-up. Introduced by Mr. Drippy, they are color coded to help you understand what they're useful for. Green glims will recover your Health Points, while blue glims will restore your magic points. Golden glims will unlock the special ability of whichever character you're controlling. The ones to watch out for are the Purple Glims, introduced when you encounter:

These purple glims will actually damage you, and I am not certain whether or not they'll count for this trophy. Simply progress through the game and you will come across near enough, especially if you level up your familiars and complete as many errands/bounties as possible.

Well, I already knew this, but thanks :)
It's unfortunate that many games do not have solutions on this site yet, but hopefully people will come around to posting solutions

That's what I've been trying to do. This site is still in a baby walker stage, needing the support from its users to fill the empty pages MUCH LIKE filling the pages of the Wizard Companion! :D

Takes longer than you think. The only glims that count are the ones Oliver (or his familiar) collects. Once you have the ability to auto collect the ones after battles these count. Got this after the 1000 battles proc'ed.

When you hit an enemy or an enemy hits you, sometimes a green (HP recovery) or blue (MP recovery) orb will fly out. You need to collect 2000 of these during battles for the trophy, and it's ok if they heal 0. Orbs collected by your party members do not count, but orbs auto-collected for you at the end of battle with the Jackpot II merit award do. I didn't get this until far into post-game.

Do note that you cannot control your Familiar while in attack mode. If you are attacking and a lot of souls appear (after a critical hit, maybe), cancel your attack with so that you can run around the field and grab the orbs. Otherwise, your teammates may grab them all instead.

During battle, green and blue spheres fly out from opponents, replenishing Life and Magic (HP/MP). For the trophy, it seems, only the green ones are important. Received automatically, some time after the Little Battler Experience trophy.

I received this troy only at the 91st hour of the game (!), and I was already starting to worry that it was buggy. According to my observations, only the balls that you catch while playing as Oliver count. I usually controlled Swaine (to steal items), as soon as I switched to the boy and started casting Thunderstorm en masse - the trophy dropped in just a few hours.

Personally, after 60~ hours of playing, the trophy still did not drop out. then he switched to the following tactics: he set the whole party to the “do nothing” tactic, chose Oliver, cast Thunderstorm (you get it from Horace) and ran around collecting all the spheres with it. As a result, after about an hour and a half, the trophy fell out safely.

You just need to collect 2k glims) all glims are considered blue, green and gold, and it doesn’t matter who you collect them from. I got the trophy when I controlled Swine.

Balls dropped from opponents count only if you pick them up with the character you control. It makes no difference who it will be - be it a familiar or a human. They do not count if picked up by a character controlled by a bot. When you purchase a skill to collect orbs after a battle, the collected orbs are credited to you. Checked, I got the trophy by collecting the last spheres using this method.
