How to unlock the Weapons Collector achievement in NieR - Definitive Guide

------------------
One Handed Weapons
------------------

Nameless Blade - Starting equipment

Lily-Leaf Sword - 2,400g, starting village (this is a very good investment early in the game)

Nirvana Dagger - Box in the Lost shrine on the staircase

Moonrise - Obtained from a guard in the southern plains for saving him

Rebirth - Obtained from the prince of Facade after the Barren Temple

Earth Wyrm's Claw - 8,400g, blacksmith in Facade

Blade of Treachery - Box in Emil's Manor right before the boss

Beastbane - 16,800g, blacksmith in starting village

Faith - Obtained from the mayor of the Forest of Myth after freeing him and the other two residents from the Deathdream, also purchasable in the Aerie in part II

Ancient Overlord - Acquired form the King of Facade, part 02 (this is an excellent weapon)

Phoenix Dagger - 31,200, blacksmith in Seaport village, part 02

Labyrinth's Whisper - Quest reward: A Bridge in Peril
-The quest is from a guard toward the north gate in the main village and is available after you obtain the first key fragment I believe. The shade you need to kill for this quest spawns at the little wooden bridge between the village and the aerie- in front of the bridge on the side toward the village. It seems completely random to spawn him. Every time I crossed that zone I would check that bridge and I may have taken about 30 trips across the zone, loading into and out of the area (I dont know if loading in and out makes a difference, but I strongly suspect it does) at different times before he suddenly spawned. I was riding a boar to cross the plains quickly and as i approached the bridge a mini event started that stopped my boar in its tracks and a huge shade spawned along with a bunch of minions, so yes- it's ok to ride a boar back and forth to check for him. you don't have to be on foot.

Iron Pipe - Quest reward: The Magical Stone
-You get this quest rather late in the game- you either have to have most of the key fragments or have done a lot of other quests to trigger it to be available, but I wasnt able to pick it up until well after I had completed the 30 quests achievement. It starts from an npc in the Forest of Myth. Devola in the village tavern will also give you a notification to go meet her for the quest if it's available for you. When you are sent to the top of the Lost Temple to look for the stone, as you get to the roof area with the crumbled rooms outside look to the right for a box you can pull around the corner and move it so you can jump up and get into another room where you can continue to make some pretty tricky jumps to get to the areas you can see on the east side of the map minimap.) Once you return to the lady in the Forest of Myth choose to get your fortune told. The pipe is behind the shelves inside the ruined building.
NOTE: it is reported that you also receive this weapon after completing Ending B if you don't already have it by then. I'd advise you to do the quest anyway; however, because the dream sequence in the regular quest for the weapon is an excellent place to farm tons of words. (you can do the dream sequence as many times as you want after you unlock it to keep farming if you care to.)

------------------
Two Handed Weapons
------------------

Kusanagi - Auto-acquired beginning of part 02

Axe of Beheading - 19,200g, blacksmith in starting village, part 02

Fang of the Twins - Box in the underground facility, first level, part 02

Vile Axe - 21,600g, blacksmith in Seafront, part 02

Beastlord - Box in the lost shrine right before the boss, part 02

Iron Will - Obtained from Gideon at the two brothers weaponry, part 02

Phoenix Sword - Box in Shadowlord's Castle in the same room as the birds who give you the riddle.

Labyrinth's Song - Quest reward: Disturbing the sleep of Kings
-To get this quest you have to have completed the loyal cerberus key fragment first off. If you choose the "go talk to popola" option you can get a letter from the facade king to go meet him and start that chain for that key fragment. You may possibly have to complete a couple other quests in facade afterwards for this to be available- one of which is almost certainly the quest in which you are asked to clear bandits out of the temple. When the Disturbing the Sleep of Kings quest available, I believe it will be from the king himself on the balcony of his mansion. It's either him or one of the advisors/guards outside.

------
Spears
------

Transience - Auto-acquired beginning of part 02

Spear of the Usurper - 21,600g, blacksmith in Seaport, part 02

The Devil Queen - Box at the foot of the lost shrine where you are climbing ladders up the wall coming in from the back entrance, part 02

Sunrise - 21,600g, blacksmith at the Aerie, part 02 (make sure you get it before doing the quest for the fragment related to the Aerie that starts with a friendly letter inviting you to come trade with the town etc. I don't want to spoil what happens, but just trust me on this. you don't have to worry about this on your first playthrough, though.)

Beastcurse - Box inside junk heap right before the P-33 fight, part 02

Captain's Holy Spear - Blacksmith at Facade, part 02

Dragoon Lance - Box in Shadowlord's castle, just before the spiral stairs through the doors while running from the armored warthog

Phoenix Spear - 32,400g, blacksmith in Facade, part 02 (this weapon owns :p)

Labyrinth's Shout - Quest reward: The Damaged Map
-You may have to complete several quests or collect a certain key fragment, but this quest will start from the blacksmith in your home village and it runs you all over the place. The thing you are sent to retrieve at one point that some people have trouble finding is in the Lost Shrine in one of the side rooms in the tower. it's a glowing sparkle like a gathering spot.

The master lists of weapons are available in many locations so original credit is hard to pin down, but the details about the tricky ones to get were all written by me from a LOT of messing around and managing to figure them out for myself which for some of them was pretty daunting. I hope this is helpful. Happy hunting. If you think this achievement was difficult... the fully upgrade all weapons achievement will make you cry many, many, MANY bitter tears. Even using the fastest method period with the game installed to reduce load times to farm materials I got 1 eagle egg out of the 4 you need total in about 3 hours of just checking its spot over and over. And that's just one of the components you need... I'll post a full list under the upgrade achievements so you can get started tackling that one next. IF YOU ARE ON YOUR 3RD PLAYTHROUGH DO NOT COMPLETE THE AERIE KEY FRAGMENT UNTIL YOU FARM YOUR EAGLE EGGS. If you are at that stage, you know exactly what I'm talking about. (Update: the may 12th DLC has eagle eggs in the third section of it that I got 2 out of 3 runs through it. the DLC is basically like playing the game on mind altering drugs and fighting stuff way more brutal than anything in the main game. it's not very long, and I didn't know what to expect going into it, but now, even without it directly having any achievements, it was worth the money for the fun it provides. the different armor models you can choose are interesting and also change the rest of your party members armor, and also uh,.... turn all the red orb projectiles into emil's head. I'm not even kidding. i just dont know what to say about that.)
If not- don't worry about it, just remember the bold sentence above when you get that far into the game.

I'm going freaking ballistic trying to find any machine oil in order to get the labyrinth's shout. I've searched B2 in the junk heap over and over and over but nothing. Is there another elevator that leads to a different area in B2 where I can find even one machine oil?

If anyone else is having this problem: machine oil is a rare drop off the flying drones in B2. Attach item droprate words (mahira etc) to your weapons and spells and you should come upon some rather quickly.

You don't need to do the Magical Stone quest to get the Iron Pipe (although this is one way of doing it). You also get given it when you finish with Ending B.

Confirm I didn't do MS quest either and got Iron Pipe.

I have all the weapons listed and the ach. but my inventory shows a two-hand slot (no.9) saying I don't have this weapon yet. I'm a little concerned I won't get ending C. Is this because I have a wep related quest open or will it close when I pick up the Phoenix Sword again? I'll let you know.

Got the option for ending C so there was nothing to worry about. There are 30 weps. divided 13,8,9 and my empty slot in inventory had no effect. Thanks for your efforts rastal66.

np, glad you confirmed whatever was causing that gap didn't affect the C option. might be you have the DLC downloaded but haven't picked up the weapons in it? I can't remember if you just get them automatically or what... did my 100% on Nier over a year ago and my memory ain't what it used to be. lol.

There's a bunch of weapons you'll be able to get through various methods throughout the game, you'll need to collect them all.

Here's a list of them all so you can collect them all like Pokemon (Use Ctrl+F to find a specific weapon if you know it's name)

Small Swords:
Nameless Blade - You start with this weapon you dingus ;)

Lily-Leaf Sword - Only 2400 from the Village Blacksmith

Nirvana Dagger - You'll find this at the Shrine, it will be inside a crate you can't really miss along the way up, just smash the crate and pick it up.

Moonrise - Early game you'll be told to go to Seafront for the first time and on they way you'll save a man under attack and he will give you this

Rebirth - You'll get this after completing the Barren Temple for the first time

Earth Wyrms Sword - This will cost only 8400 at Facades Blacksmith

Beastbain - This will cost a slightly more hefty 16800 at the Village Blacksmith

Blade of Treachery - At the Mansion you'll find this in a crate after being attacked by shades, you'll likely smash this crate while fighting them

Faith - Later on in the game you can buy this from Aerie Blacksmith before Aerie is destroyed for a slightly hefty 18500

Phoenix Dagger - For a nice chunk of money (31200) at Seafront Blacksmith, worth it though.

Labyrinth Whisper - Awarded for completing a quest given by a Village guard requiring you to kill a shade in the plains.

Iron Pipe - Awarded for Ending B

Ancient Overlord - Given in Facade as part of the story

Large Swords:
Kusanagi - Awarded later in the story when you have access to different weapon types

Axe of Beheading - Bought for 19200 in the Village Blacksmith

Vile Axe - Bought for 21600 at Seafront Blacksmith

Beastlord - Near the boss room in Shrine inside a crate

Iron Will - Given at the Junk Yard as part of the story

Phoenix Sword - After the "point of no return" message there will be a crate in a garden by the door, smash it and take the sword

Labyrinths Song - Awarded for a quest given by the King of Facade requiring you to clear out the Barren Temple

Spears:
Transience - Awarded later in the story when you have access to different weapon types

Spear of the Usurper - Bought for 21600 in Seafront Blacksmith

The Devil Queen - When you approach the Shrine by the rear, after climbing it will be in one of the crates

Sunrise - 21600 at the Aerie Blacksmith before Aerie is destroyed

Beastcurse - Before you fight the boss in B2 route of Junk Yard smash the crate beside the hole in the ground

Captains Holy Spear - A nice round 30000 at Facade Blacksmith

Dragoon Lance - After escaping the boar like enemy in the endgame you'll find it in one of the crates in the hall

Phoenix Spear - Probably the best weapon to use, 32400 in Facade Blacksmith

Labyrinths Shout - Awarded through a quest by the Village Blacksmith
