How to unlock the One Chance achievement in Onimusha: Warlords - Definitive Guide

In order to obtain this achievement Marcellus must be in his final stage (two swords), from there is all about your timing. You must guard at the last second just before you are hit and then execute an attack immediately afterward. Magic attacks do not count.
Edit: Just as an added note that might make things easier, Marcellus will back away at some point during his final stage then he will charge Samanosuke, it’s a little easier to get the timing right here. Also I don’t think it matters but I was using Enryuu at the time.

MISSABLE

All you have to do is parry one of Marcellus attacks and counter it with a critical hit. Focus on his moves, while holding , when he is about to hit you strike fast to defend the blow right when it’s about to hit you. Doing it right will make a bright appear and a different sound will play. Press as fast as you can, almost at the same time you defend his blow.

The easier way to do it is when he runs back and dashed towards you, because this way you can see when he's about to get to you.
