How to unlock the Keep 'em Rolling achievement in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - Definitive Guide

At the start of Trumpet's Sound, jump into the provided vehicle and follow the flags to the first overwatch position. Hop out and switch to your binoculars. They'll give you a better view at a far distance since your starting gun doesn't have a scope.

First, there are three tanks sitting across the way that will shell you if you get any closer than the overwatch position. You can take out two of them with a single artillery barrage if you're lucky, but you'll have to at least spend 2 on the tanks.

The first AT team is just down the hill from you and sometimes will move too close for you to really hit it with a barrage. Aim for their sandbags and either use a barrage or a loose spread. The second team is up the hill to your right, use another barrage or so to take them out. The final group is far to the left and you may have to move around to get a good line of sight on them. If you're having trouble with finding the teams, try taking out the tanks and then let your armor roll forward with the other humvees to take some of them out and let their shots give away enemy positions, then reload the checkpoint/mission.

After the area is cleared, you'll move up some more to an oil works area. There's plenty of explosives around but you should be safe. You'll have two extra squads that'll get on foot with you to assault is, so this'll be easier than most combat engagements. One enemy squad will come down the hill, while a second waits all the way on top. Clear your way to the top and across the way you'll see a few bunkers with more enemy troops. Your squad shouldn't have much trouble engaging at a distance, but if you want a scope, try grabbing a marksman rifle off of a dead Chinese soldier. Once the bunkers are clear you can move up towards them and across the street is another squad of AT gunners, take them out and the achievement will unlock provided that none of the three Abrams are destroyed. You may have to move quickly up and over the hill to beat them to the AT gunners.

How many Abrams does the mission start with?

There's 3 IIRC, and losing all 3 will also result in mission failure.

You don't have to drop the binoculars to bring up the artillery menu. Just keep LT held down and hit Y and the menu will come up.

Cool, thanks... I was actually already in the mission and did not pay attention. It does look like three, but I guess my other "support" also show up as blue vehicles. Well I did fail at my first attempts (still have not finished). I could not clean up the second AT location fast enough. I did however want to comment on one aspect of this great guide.

Recommending the binoculars was brilliant as I found a secondary use for them: If you use the binoculars to locate you target, then let go of LT and immediately press Y (without touching the thumb-sticks, you will keep the same location to drop the artillery on the target. Makes it much easier drop the arty right where you want it.

So thanks again!

Update: Well before anyone mentions it, I just wanted to say that I also learned that you can call in the strike while looking _through_ the binoculars (or even a scoped weapon). I thought I made some cool discovery, but after mentioning it in the Xbox forums, I learned that while my method works, you can also do it while using the binoculars. This method is much easier. Turns out I could also do it through my sniper rifle with night scope, as I had no trouble calling in the strike for "Two Birds One Stone" (mission 10 - Decapitation).

one more thing i figured out do these longer missions in normal mode only if something goes wrong all you generally have to do is then reload the last checkpoint works well normally and saves a hell of alot of agravation my profile hasnt been udated yet but these guides all have worked so far:)

Just an addition, there is a marksman weapon in the first ammo crate in the mission, which is right next to the flagged vehicle you are designated, saves the fuss of finding a dead soldier.

Good call Harrawr. I think that should be included in the solution since its much easier to just grab the rifle out of the crate in the beginning. Great solution though.

Solution worked 2nd time i tried it. Great solution. If i were to offer one tidbit it would be... if you are looking for the other 2 AT teams.... to the RIGHT and LEFT of the LAV's there is a row of sandbags with what looks like a "camo tent" behind it. Those are the locations of the other 2 teams.

Also after you call in a artillery drop, Once you hear/see the "Shots fired" or "rounds incoming" you can call in another and it fire them no problem. I had about 60 seconds of constant ARTY drops going on.

This description is really hard to follow, a video guide (or even screenshots of the locations) would really go a long ways here.

Other guide has some good info, but for me I needed some more visual indicators. This video (not mine) was very useful:

Achievement unlocked after clearing the area that's around 17:46 in the video.

Also there are *four* tanks, not three like the other solution indicates.
