Nah, but these guys are vicious. You'll encounter one very early in the game. Typically when you enter a room they'll be laying on the ground, if you move, they get up, bark, and charge at you.
You can press down to lie down and fire at them while they're still sleeping, by the time they're done barking, they'll be...uh...done...barking.
Seriously, this is the worst solution i've ever had to write.

Room A05 or A02 - After getting the gun (Armed) go right to A05 and shoot the dog here. Alternatively, you could go back to where you started in the game and kill the dog there.
