Your objective is to hit tiles held up by Onion's disciples and the points are accrued by how many tiles you hit.
The trick to get a series of 40 is to take your time and let the attendants setup the pieces for you Parappa to break.
The tiles' positions would match the position and color of your Playstation controller buttons.
green tile (up) - triangle
red tile (right) - circle
pink tile (left) - square
blue tile (down) - x
When you see a tile ready, push the corresponding button to break it.
I usually wait for at least 2 tiles to be ready and then press their buttons quickly in succession. (Parappa's animation as he hits would make spotting on the fly much harder, so it's best to memorize what you want to hit first.)
The hardest one to spot for me was the blue tile on the bottom, since it was laid down on a stone rack instead of being held up.
As long as you don't get ahead of yourself and try to hit an empty spot, you'll be okay.
I was able to get this about halfway through my session.

When you are playing a level, you might get entered into a bonus level after the main level has ended. In order to get into the bonus level, you need around 1,000 points in one stage on one playthrough. While that might sound like a daunting amount of points to gain, if you learn how to freestyle on the stages, you will easily get over 1,000 points as you can end up getting 150 points per lyric if you do well enough. Just be careful not to mess up on a song too badly, because the game's a little weird when deciding what counts as good rapping and what doesn't and can end up taking 300 points off if it declares you did bad enough.
When you do get to the bonus stage you will see four onions picking out items from boxes and setting them down for you to destroy, they're coloured coded to match up with the DualShock 3 controller's face buttons. Your goal here is to destroy 40 of these items in a row without missing and within the time limit. You need to be careful as the onions can fake you out and make you accidentally hit them if they manage to trick you. Just try to be careful, destroy the items as soon as they appear and this trophy should pop at the results screen if you managed to do it.
