How to unlock the Extreme Victory achievement in Phoenix Point - Definitive Guide
Phoenix Point has like almost every game different levels of difficulty. The highest difficulty level is Very hard.
I haven't completely mastered the game yet, but I could gain some valuable experience.
Let's start with the classes.
You start with assault soldieres. This is a solid class for any mission. These units can be easily expanded by combining them with other classes. Also, most of the recruits are assault soldieres.
Next, you'll get to know the heavy class. It can use heavy weapons and also has good skills, for example Rage Burst. The heavy soldier's accuracy is too poor, though. Best you can do is use it on the Scylla.
Snipers are a must-have for any mission. Their rifles penetrate the armour and inflict great damage. They're therefore ideally suited to disable body parts. Taking out a Siren's head or an Arthron's rifle from a safe distance is a valuable asset.
There are also other classes that belong to the factions. The infiltrator is designed to steal research. The technician can be used to build strong cannons. The priest can psychologically demoralize the enemy.
Now something to say about the factions. There are three factions. They are in conflict with each other. One can at best be allied with two factions. Of all three factions, Synedrion is probably the best. The stun weapon Athena NS-2 is very practical. On the one hand it can be used to capture the creatures in order to explore them. On the other hand it is sometimes faster to stun an opponent instead of killing him. The infiltrator is - as mentioned in the beginning - good for espionage missions. Furthermore Synedrion offers a building to clear the mist.
You should mainly concentrate on the main missions. It is not possible to save every haven. Loss is to be expected. Build a second plane in good time so you can work faster. More factory buildings and research labs are advantageous to progress quickly. Specialize your bases. In one base, build several training centers. This is the first place you send your recruits. In other bases, you should build hospitals and housing estates so that your soldiers can regenerate quickly.
