How to unlock the Nom Nom Nom achievement in Plants vs. Zombies - Definitive Guide

If you diddn't get the Cheevo on your first rush of "Adventure-Mode" it could be a little bit tricky on your second run. There are more Zombies that will sneak trough your bushes so the easy solution won't work that much here.

Here' the tip how it will work fine:

After you beat the final Boss you unlocked the "Survival-Mode".
Just pick that Mode, start the first Level (Daytime), pick your Sunflower, Wall-Nut and the Snapper start as the other guides told you to do so.
You won't even have to finish the whole Level to let the Cheevo pop up. After the first "Last Wave" it will be your's...

Hope that helps. :)
Good luck!

As others have mentioned, this method doesn't seem to work for some users (while online, supposedly). If you lost your chance in Adventure mode, and Survivor mode doesn't work for you, try the minigame called ZomBotany. I was able to get the achievement this way. Credit goes to Tinynshorty and his solution.

I got this online on survival (day) today, I just had to wait until after the third flag. Still wasn't particularly hard to get even with the extra flags.

Can confirm it works on survival. I think the issue was how long they played for? I thought it failed for me, but after completing 2 flags i just got the achievement.

Almost 3 lanes of sunflowers, wasted some chompers and bought time with the wall-nut ;)

Wish I knew you could do it in survival BEFORE I did it on 1-7 on my second run. Definitely possible to do it there, but it took a lot of RNG before I managed to do it.

Ok, I can confirm that on Survival mode, it doesn't work....I tried twice.

I just tried RetroZombieHead's solution (see comment above) to try it in the Mini Game "ZomBotany" and it worked. My advice is to set up two rows of sunflowers next to the house as soon as possible as you plant chompers and walnuts.
Dig up any chewing chompers and replace with fresh ones if you have more zombies following in the lanes.
I didn't have any zombies cross mid field. You should be good to go with all the sunflowers funding replacement chompers and walnuts.

Good luck.

Easy to do as soon as you get the chompers, your lawn should look like this at the end.

* A B C D E F G H
1 S S X X C C C W
2 S S X X C C C W
3 S S X X C C C W
4 S S X X C C C W
5 S S X X C C C W

S=Sunflower
C=Chomper
W=Walnut
X=Empty

Concentrate getting column A full of sunflowers Asap, whilst spending time blocking column H with a walnuts and placing a chomper behind each one in column G.

In between seed recharges plant your 2nd column of sunflowers to help speed up populating column E & F with more Chompers.

You shouldn't need to use your spade at all but feel free to dig out damaged Walnuts and full Chompers if your been overwhelmed..

Also found a video of it been done, courtesy of the great peeps @ Achievement Hunter.

If you missed the level where you first get chompers like I did, I found that you can get this achievement playing Zombotiny. Simply choose sunflowers, walnuts, and chompers and whatever else and just use the 3. Note, use walnuts to protect everything as soon as you can. Putting chompers in front of walnuts when you have 2 rows behind is not a bad idea either! Hope this helps!

Best way to do it IWillSomkeYou69 is to plant a flower or 2 and then setup some wall nuts. The plant zombies can't shoot through walls. Then setup chompers. Try to only wall and chomper lanes that have flowers and when the plant zombies get close to the house, you can drop a chomper or let them get run over. I think I only had 2 movers left at the end. Hope that helps you a little!

After finishing the Adventure mode the first time, I messed up on the first level the second time and placed a marigold (no idea why), right as I was about to finish the level. Since the Survivor mode didn't work for me, I'm glad to say this one did. Thanks.

Here is an advice, you can get the schievement in survival mode no more, cause there was an update.
In the survival mode it doesnt pop up, but you can get in co-op (day) very easy or in the adventure mode.

If you're like me and didn't take the time to get this achievement the first time you picked up the chomper in the main adventure, the best way to do this is to choose Survival: Day from the left-hand game menu. (Getting this achievement on the main adventure after beating the game or in later levels in the first playthrough is very difficult--I wasn't able to do it after several tries so I decided to give this a shot on Survival mode and it worked.) Start by planting 2 sunflowers in the first column on the left. By the time the first zombie gets halfway through the yard you'll have enough sun for a chomper. Place it in the second column from the left in front of the first zombie. Keep planting sunflowers when you can--I was able to get a whole column of sunflowers easily on my playthrough. Plant chompers as soon as you can in front of approaching zombies. Use the wallnuts when needed, but honestly I only used 2 and was fine. Otherwise, keep planting chompers in column 2 and 3. You only need to survive the first wave to get this achievement. Easy!

Personally for this one i found it easiest to do ASAP the very first level i had the chomper i used the 3 plants combo of pretty much:

Starting from left to right- 1 column of sunflowers, 1 column of chompers, 1 column of walnuts

Then after that it just went 1 column chomper 1 column walnut until the round was over

(note: I had to put some walnuts down in order to slow down the zombies so i had time to build the chompers that's just the set up i had)

Like Ratso Albion, I planted two rows of Sunflowers next to the house, then Wallnuts next to the hedges, with two rows of Chompers behind them (incase the jumping zombies clear your Wallnuts)

Remember to store your Sunshine and use the spade/shovel to clear digesting Chompers and replace them if your Wallnuts are getting eaten fast.

This is easy enough to do on the first level where you have Chompers. I planted two columns of Sunflowers by the house and Wallnuts at the far end of the garden as and when I could (up to two columns). The rest of your Sunshine currency should go on Chompers, just place them intelligently based on where you see zombie movement coming from. By the end I had 4 columns of Chompers I think and was never in any danger of losing one. Cheevo unlocked at the first attempt.

Extremely easy to get this on the first roof stage too. You only face zombies, conehead zombies, and a couple of bungie zombies. But really, the first stage on any daytime level is easy to get the achievement on since you usually face very small resistance early on.

This achievement is easily unlocked on level 1.8 on adventure mode. In order to do this you need to complete the mission using only 3 plants: Sunflower, Wallnut and Chomper. I advise on working your way to getting 2 rows of sunflowers, 3 rows of chompers and a defending row of walnuts at the front.

Here is a video guide I have provided to show the method I used.

Simply complete a level of Story/Survival/Co-op with only Sunflower, Wall Nut, and Chomper. This should be fairly easy to pull off if you plant them like so:

S = Sunflower
N = Wall Nut
C = Chomper
X = Free Space

S C N X X X X X X
S C N X X X X X X
S C N X X X X X X
S C N X X X X X X
S C N X X X X X X
S C N X X X X X X

I left a lot of free space so the chompers will have time to digest the last zombies before the others reach it.

You unlock the Chomper during adventure mode after beating zone 1 - level 7.

Fill the first two rows with sunflowers then when the zombies start to come plant a Chomper in its path, if another zombie comes down that lane and the Chomper hasn’t finished eating a zombie plant a Wall-Nut in front of the Chomper so it can finished eating.

0
0

Easiest to do when you first unlock the Chomper while playing through the story mode. Just build sunflowers on the back two rows then have chompers in the two rows in front with a Wall-Nut in front of them.
If your chomper is taking to long to eat the zombie then you can dig it up and build another one where it was to restore it back to its original state ready to eat more zombies.
Heres a Video guide to show you how to do it:

If you missed out on doing this when you first unlocked the chomper you can also do this easily on level 1-1 of your 2nd playthrough of Adventure mode or on Survival Day.

0
0

This is first available on stage 1-8 after unlocking the Chomper.

Chomper

First, start by placing 2 or 3 Sunflowers in the back so you have some form of sun-income. After getting enough place a few chompers, I suggest placing 2 rows in case the first Chomper is eating. You can place more, though. Make sure to have a row of Wall-nuts in front of the Chompers to protect them while they're eating. If a Chomper is going to slow for your taste you can dig him up and place another one. The trophy will pop after winning the round.

0
0

Stopping the horde simply means defeating all the zombies during a level. This trophy first becomes available during Level 1-8, when you unlock the Chomper. This is easiest to complete during this level, as the level and zombies are still very easy at this point.

The three plants that you are allowed to use are:

Sunflowers - These are used to produce more sun. The sunflowers will randomly pop out sun allowing you to plant more plants during a match.

Wall-Nuts - These are used to block the zombies. With a Wall-Nut in place, zombies must eat through the Wall-Nut before they can get any further.

Chompers - These are used to eat zombies. Once a chomper has eaten a zombie it can't do anything else until it has swallowed that zombie.

Here is the method I used to achieve this trophy:

- I placed Wall-nuts in the middle column to block the zombies from moving any further, and to also protect my Chompers
- I then placed two columns of Chompers behind the Wall-nuts with two columns of Sunflowers in the first two columns. The Sunflowers should provide more than enough sun to get through this. If the Chompers are eating too slowly, simply dig them up and put another one in their place.
