Possessing statues is an action that can only be performed by Scree. It will be done many times throughout the game in order to further advance through the different realms. In order to possess a statue, you must first collect 5 Lodestones. These are brown egg-shaped orbs that glow in the distance and bounce when you're near them. They can be found on the ground, inside chests, or inside breakable objects. Whenever you find one, have either Jen or Scree pick it up by pressing next to it. Note that you can see how many Lodestones you currently have at any time either by holding and looking at the egg-shaped symbol near the compass, or by bringing up the Pause menu (which can be done by pressing the right side of the Touchpad while in-game). The picture below shows what a Lodestone looks like:

When you have 5 Lodestones, you can now possess the statue. To do so, have Scree stand next to it. He should now glow. If he doesn't, change his position slightly until he does, then press to possess the statue. You can now perform the required action with the statue, which can be opening a certain door, stopping an oil flow, or creating a path, depending on each situation. When you're done with the statue, press to dispossess it. Note that once you've possessed a certain statue, you can subsequently possess that statue at will without losing any more Lodestones.

The first time you will possess a statue is early on in the game, in the Solum realm. You will eventually reach the Great Temple, where you will need to unlock a door by possessing the nearby statue. Make sure you have 5 Lodestones, then possess the statue (the trophy should unlock now) and turn its head with , so that it lights the green crystal on the door. The door to the Great Temple will now unlock, allowing you to pass through.
