How to unlock the Not what it looks like achievement in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - Definitive Guide

This is a mid-game boss fight with the giant demon, Ratash. The best advice I have is to stay close to his feet, in front of him, and then we he lifts his sword to swing down, do a body roll through his legs. He'll stammer a bit after his sword collides to the ground, use that time to do POWER STRIKE on the back of his legs. He can *only* be hurt with power strikes!

Watch out for two things from him, and be ready to dash away: 1) his sweep attack, this is different from his downward attack, and if he sweeps, stand clear or be behind him. 2) his foot stomp. He'll lift his foot to do a ground smash, and this can cause a lot of damage to you. Also note that if you keep a good distance from you, he'll shoot fireballs at you until you get back into melee range.

Once he reaches 50% health, he'll kneel, and you need to follow the on-screen instructions to jump (press A) and attack (press X), but WAIT till you're at the pinnacle of the jump (it happens in slow-motion) then press X. The fight will progress a bit more. You can use Stone Armor to avoid taking any damage at all, but watch out for the armor to fade, and be clear of him when it does. When under Stone Armor, be BEHIND him and spam power strikes. If he hits you, it won't hurt you, but it will knock you down, wasting the stone armor time you have.

Eventually, he'll kneel again, and do the same A then X arial attack you did before. He will lose his sword and leap away. you will then need to do some wall climbing, and puzzle jumping on intermittent water spouts, all the while Ratash is spamming fireballs in your direction. This part is not easy, but remember your time reversal, and also the game gives a decent checkpoint if you fall. On one of the platforms, there are a ton of vases and baskets to smash for health and energy orbs, so stock up before you try the jump puzzle.

Upon completion of that puzzle, you will reach the final phase of the melee battle. Use the aforementioned methods to finish him off, watch the cutscene, and the 50 points are yours.

Just progress through the story on any difficulty and the achievement is yours. If it does not unlock, reload last checkpoint before auto save happens

This is story related and cannot be missed.

About halfway through the game and part of the way through the ‘Throne Room’ level you will enter an open area. A cut-scene will play & during this cut-scene you will see Malik fighting Ratash. Just complete the fight & you will earn the trophy.
