This is a retroactive achievement: if you satisfied the requirement during the period of Game Preview, it will unlock automatically once downloaded the complete game.
To unlock this achievement, you have to be the winner of a Duo Match. You can play either third-person or first-person modes. The achievement will pop in both cases.
You don't need to be alive to unlock the achievement. If your team is the last one standing, everyone in the team will we awarded with the achievement, even if one of you is dead.
I highly recommend to play with a friend to coordinate together your movements, balancing your equips, etc. If you try to find a game alone, the game will automatically match you up with another player alone like you, making it harder to win, but not impossible of course. Just remember that you will find enemy teams made of 2 players who probably are talking to each other...

It may be necessary to stay in the game as a spectator if you die to obtain the win. I cannot confirm this but I have been staying as a spectator if I die in the last 30 just in case. It's only paid off once but my tracker went up.

I can confirm that you have your stats updated once your team finish the game (die or win), also if you leave early. You can simply check this fact with the challenges actually running. However, to updated them you to restart the game or play another match.
