How to unlock the Ace Pilot achievement in Puzzle Quest Galactrix - Definitive Guide

You need 13,230 Intel to get to level 50. About halfway through the story (Rites of Passage quest, found at Quesada Prime), you’ll gain the ability to play a “rumor” minigame, with fairly high Intel rewards. Below is a list of all 50 rumor locations listed in order of Intel given, followed by number of turns the game lasts. Find a difficulty that works for you. This is the most efficient way to level up, not many sidequests even go up to 50 intel points!

A tip for completing any rumour level:
1. Try to move gems in the exact opposite direction from their nearest side, this minimises the influence of the new gems onto the board.
2. Try and move straight column
3. Move gems in columns or rows that no "radioactive" gems are, that way you can play many turns without even effecting a single "radioactive" gem.

And you can also use other methods, like BlueSeptember's "White Gem Farming" method when battling to boost Intel. It is easiest to complete "delivery" types of side quests for Intel and credits once you have all the Psi powers and no more random encounters.

You might want to explain a little about how exactly to find the rumors; i.e. moving your ship over the specific planet in case someone wasn't paying attention or forgot how to do it. Still thumbs up!

Another option is quick battles if you get tired of rumors and running around. I used the following skills:

-Data Synapse (turns purple gems into Intel points)
-Photonic Transformer (turns chosen color of gems to white)
-Multiphase Thruster (destroys one color of your choice - white, naturally)

With this set-up, one can farm Intel/experience fairly easily. it doesn't matter if you win or not since you keep your points either way. I averaged about 100 intel per battle though I did hit as high as 170.

I'm sure this could be improved with higher-level ships; I was using a Light Cruiser.

Equip and use Data Synapse as soon as you can and you should get to level 50 before the final boss. Just throw it in every match when there a lot of purple gems.

Once you have obtained the character Elgara to unlock Rumors just search for the Rumors in each system. Most of them are located on the moon areas. The minigame takes about the same amount of time as hacking a gate and I failed it less. It provides you with up to 500 Intel experience. When I hit level 50 my intel was 13,249 so I levelled up almost every time I found a Rumor.

I discovered Rumors very late in the game so I wound up only finding 17. I believe there are 50 total.

Other than Rumors the quests are worth the most experience points. You can have up to 4 quests at one time. I did all but a couple of these.

This is the most time-consuming trophy of the game. You level up by earning Intel points. You can earn Intel points by completing quests or by making gray-block series during fights only. You will unlock this trophy once you have reached Level 50 (which requires 13,230 Intel points).

Notes: You won't gain enough Intel points just by doing the main quest so the choice is yours to either grind the Intel points while doing the main quest or after. The "rumor" mini-game is one of the best way to earn Intel points. Check "Data Acquisition" description for further information.
