Stupid achievement, but your solution is really all there is to it.

Nothing worse then changing your bet- crosshairs,crosshairs,crosshairs skull.

Took me 8 minutes, and won 200$ doing it, thanks a bunch! And I agree with you sliceasaurus, saw a few come up on the wrong round!

Theres no need to save and quit to dash when u get this as u will always make a profit from this game. Pure luck (of which I have none so it took me about 800 bets)

I was already to try this tactic, i started clicking a and changed the channel, after about ten seconds i checked it was working and i already had the achievement. I must have just missed the moment it popped. I kinda feel bad for getting it so easily, when some people are having to bet for hours.

40 attempts to get this. I was not even coming close then I got it twice in a row!

I was just about to set up my turbo controller and walk off, except I got it on my 4th go...Makes up for all the time I spent on slot machines in FF13-2 :D

Popped for me after about 10 minutes. Started out doing 5 then switched to 25 and popped right when I was about to run out of money. Gave me 250 payout too. Woo hoo!

Just spent an hour playing this before it popped.
Then i got it twice in a row.

The way i did this was i backed out after the end of every game to the part where it autosaves. Then i would rejoin and bet etc. It took me 4 games (about 2 mins) to net this achievement.

Wow, I got four skulls all the time, even had entire rounds that were all skulls, but have yet to get four crosshairs.

took me about an hour to get. didn't actually see it pop. was watching the bears packers game. thanks for assuring me there is nothing i can do but lay on the A button.

I got one of the lucky vegas rolls and got the acheivement in around 20 minutes of playing, and proffited as well.

I got it fairly quick, i was betting 15 at one point and i got it, just pure luck though.

Took me about 50 tries to finally get it (I got 4 crosshairs many times, just never on the first roll). And you're right - there is NO way to increase your chances. It's ALL LUCK. Forget the negative voters.

I think I got really lucky, got it on my first try. And I am the one that always cursing others at being that lucky :)

I have posted solutions for luck-based achievements too, and don't have negatives (yet), so I think this has to deal with the fact you didn't even care to explain where and how to find in the game itself this mini-game. Don't have another explanation for this.

A luck-based achievement is always annoying, but unlike the Jackpot winner in Bioshock, I got this my first time :D

After about half an hour of mashing an "A" button and chilling to music. I finally decided to look up a guide whilst still mashing that button. Then shortly after LAYING MY EYES ON THIS GUIDE! POP, *Achievement unlocked*. Great guide by the way. +1

I looked at this guide, said to myself "ughhh this is going to take forever", got my blanket, some popcorn, and South Park set up on my computer screen, rolled the dice 1 time and got the achievement LMAO

Been trying this for over an hour and didn't get it. Stupid achievement...

Did the game have a tutorial or explanation that I skipped over? Did it specify what the dice used were? I'm starting to think it's a six-sided die, with five sides being skulls and only one side being the target. Either that, or the game programming is broken and the randomization doesn't work. I get about 90%+ of skulls. I lose most of my games.

I tried this on max bet for an hour with no luck, then I tried different bets and got it in 10 mins.

Geez, ive been coming back to try it after every mission, easily put over an hour into this part alone. Stupid achievement. My have to do the press A while watching tv trick.

I've played well over 100 games on nightmare and I've never rolled 4 targets in ANY round. Seriously this achievement is crap. You guys are very lucky.

I seriously doubt that the amount of your bet, crimson armor, etc. has anything to do with the odds of winning. I farm this game all the time for $$$ and it appears completely random.

Seriously, how is this achievement actually based in "achieving" anything? I hate achievements like this. I've been going at it forever.

There's also nothing quite as frustrating in the world to get 4 on the 2nd roll twice in a row.

Wow, I didn't realise how long it's been taking some of you guys. You could try changing your bet and see if that helps (I maxed my bet for some of the games). Personally, I didn't think it helped, but there you go. Also, I am playing on nightmare and have the Crimson Elite Armour. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Finally got it after an extra 2,5 hours. I just watched a hockey game while pressing A on my controller.

After about an hour trying to get this achievement to pop (crimson elite armor, normal dif, $25 bet) and seeing 4 targets in a row only once, on a third roll I decided to check this site. Read the guides, for what they're worth and saw a string of comments stating that after betting $10 they got the achievement rather quickly. I decided to give it a try.

Set bet to $10. Rolled.
4 targets, first time.
WTF?

Second round was 12 skulls.

Everybody:

The amount of your bet, Crimson Armor, or anything else does not affect the odds of you winning. The only thing that matters is luck. This game is purely luck based. Simply put: You roll 4 "dice" or whatever they are. If you get the four targets on your first roll, you get 10x's the amount of your bet. If you roll the four targets on your second roll it is 4x's the amount of your bet. If you roll the four targets on your third roll, you get your money back. If you miss rolling the four target's on your third roll, you lose your bet. Simple. It is pure luck.

Provided the "dice" are 6 sided and the target is only on one side you have a 1 in 1,296 chance of rolling four targets in your first roll. 1 in 1,296 translates into a 0.077% chance. So, you have less than a 1/2 of 1% chance of rolling the four targets in your first roll.

There is nothing more or less to this achievement other than rolling the dice and hoping that you are lucky enough to roll four targets the first roll with 1 in 1,296 odds of doing so. However, based on those odds, it could take awhile to actually roll four targets on your first roll.

Good luck with the dice. Hopefully the "dice gods" or "Tombstone Gods" are on your side when you roll and you don't have to sit there and roll the average of 1,296 times (or more) to actually get the four targets in the first roll. Because that could take a LONG time. Say an average game takes a minute. That still would translate to 21 hours, and 36 minutes on average to roll 4 targets (provided the "dice" are four sided with only one target per dice).

I got the achievement in about 20 minutes on normal difficulty with a $5 bet. But played it for almost 4 hours straight to farm money. I found it easier, to keep my sanity, but doing something else and just pressing 'A' on a regular basis, ie: watch tv, do something on the computer, homework, etc.

I got mine pretty quick, on normal, wearing Crimson Elite armor as well. I started playing about 10 games at 25, then played 10 at 5, then got it on my 2nd try at 10. It might have been 10 minutes, but definitely not longer than 15.

I think you guys are very unlucky. Was playing this again last night to 'farm' some money and I rolled another 4 targets on my first round (not to make you jealous or anything). I dunno if it helps, but I just constantly press A even after placing the bet.

I took the advice and maxed out my bet and got this in under 10 minutes. And playing campaign on normal with crimson elite armor.

After spending 47 minutes on this at $25 a pop - I switched to $10 and got it in 3 tries. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I think $10 is the sweet spot.

I got this on my 1st try at $10 dollars. It's just anecdotal evidence, but that was my experience.

It seems like my odds got much worse at higher bets.

I just set my turbo control to A and left. Came back with no achievement, but i made about 4k.... so i dont think money will be a problem. My bet was at 20

I got it in about 10 minutes. This is a luck achievement. You could get it on your 1st try or your Millionth try...

2 hours of trying and nada. This sucks!

i tried it for a straight hour myself and tried the minimum bet and the maximum bet and those didn't work either so im going to go home and try the 10 dollar bet and see if its the sweet spot

Seems to be a real luck based Cheevo... Got it on my 1st try - on the very first try of Tombstones. Crimson Elite on and a 5$ Bet. After that I played some more rounds and I never got a 4-Muty-Shot again... Good luck, folks!

I got it after about 5-10 minutes with 15$ bet on the first try! Before I used 5$ then 25$ and then 10$ ;)

same as knokkleman..1st ever roll on tombstones and i got it..crimson elite armour and $5 bet..this is quite a good money maker this game,i found if i got 4 skulls in the 1st round,regardless of final outcome,pressing b to quit and trying again put a stop to 4 skulls coming out again in 1st round,also i would quit out after 5 or 6 rounds maximum and try again,played for about half an hour and got 4 targets 1st roll 3 times and made over $1500

THREE HOURS - no achievement. What the hell, I'm sick of this ridiculous train wreck of an achievement.

I wasnt getting anything at the lowest bet then i just maxed it out and in about 10 games I got it
