How to unlock the Lead Foot achievement in Rage - Definitive Guide

Edit : Users EvilTrovis and Naaza both pointed out that the mission where you run Durar's Time Trial will not count fir this achievement.

This can be done once accepting the quest "Arming Your Buggy" from Sherriff Black in Wellspring. You will spend a bit of time talking to various people til you finally have to speak to Slim. Slim will show you what races you can participate in. Just select 1 of the 2 available and race. Time trial isn't all that difficult as long as you keep your buggy on the track and grab most of the boosts. Once the race is done the achievement should pop.

I didn't get the achievement for doing Durar's Time Trial. I beat his time and got the 2X boost but no achievement. It didn't pop until I did a race in Wellspring.

Same as EvilTrovis, this achievement did not pop for me until I had completed a race in Wellspring.

you don't have to wait until the arming your buggy quest, you can talk to slim and attempt the race right after you get access to Wellspring

This can be done during the course of the Campaign while you're earning the racing certificates to purchase the Miniguns for Sherikk Black.

Story related and cannot be missed

Races will become available once you reach wellsprings, speak to slim in the racing kiosk and you can choose a race of your choice. The races are very easy even on nightmare, if you have played other driving games in the past you should have no trouble winning. You will get this automatically in the story when you do the Mutant Bash sponsored race.
