How to unlock the Like a Sturgeon achievement in Rapala Pro Bass Fishing - Definitive Guide

Ok I just got this achievement and this is how I got it for anyone who is unable to replicate the above method.

1. Use the 10lb line, if you don't know how to select it press back button and go down on the dpad until you are at the bottom and press right to select the reel symbol. Then press up and change you line.

2. Select the Lure Rapala MaxRap in the size of large

3. Drive to the balloon that is right in front of you.

4. What you are going to want to do here is catch 3 lake surgeons that are about 40lbs each, anything above 60lbs is really hard to catch on small line and usually just breaks your line. So if you manage to catch a 50lb great then 1 of your fish will only need to be 30lb. Remember to keep checking the leaderborad to see where you will place. I managed to get 4th with 120lb's total and that was 3 fish at around the 40lb mark.

The best thing to do with the fish is to try combat it's move early so if you see it heading to the side of the screen move to the direction before it put to much tension on the hook. It took me about 3-4 attempts to get in the top 5 so be patient and it is all down to practice.

5. Probably the most IMPORTANT part of this if you go for the achievement with in your main tournament. When you go to weight in after your time limit DO NOT click a to continue unless you get 1st just wait until the achievement pops and click x to restart.

Hope this helps you all, & thanks to Mr Arrow for all his hard work providing all the info he has. Also use his method to gain the extra 2 points.

Flake Blue is not a lure, merely the color of the lure you're talking about which is the Rapala MaxRap.

Two things to make this a lot easier. Choose the same lure in MEDIUM not large and this will get you a lot more of the smaller fish which you need. Go to the second balloon. Make about a 180 degree turn from the 1st balloon and you will eventually see it (it's quite a bit further away). The second balloon is loaded with the smaller fish.

This event is in Tier 2 of the Legendary Season.

If you have already done it you can replay the event as long as you have finished the full season.

This was one of my last achievements,as I have tried this goal a couple dozen times, but was finally able to unlock it by catching 111 lbs, and taking 4th place on a rainy morning by the first balloon. I used a Deep Diving luer, the Rapala Shad Rap RS, color: Firetiger, Medium size, with a Hydros Casting Reel, and a TS2 Casting Rod. With the medium size luer, all the BIG sturgeon stayed away from my luer, and I was able to haul in the ones from 20 to 45 lbs.

Ok... Here is my take on this situation... My problem with the first balloon is that there are too many big Sturgeons in that area... It is easier to catch smaller Sturgeons near the shore line, as you get a lot more of the smaller fish there.

There is a good fishing spot just left of the dock where you start... now if you make sure you have a lure that attracts the Sturgeons at maximum (5 stars), like the "Rapala MaxRap" in the large size and you fish there, you should be able to get this achievement no problem (if you don't have my luck in this game). I made it on the 6rd try threw some experimentation...

Enjoy guys

This is one of the hardest things to do in the game, but it’s not that bad. You’ll come across this event late in the Legends Tournament. Once you learn how to reel in these large fish, getting in the top 5 isn’t hard at all. You’ll roughly need 150 – 180 lbs in total weight, which corresponds to averaging about 50 – 60 lbs per sturgeon. To catch these things, just follow the instructions in the “How to Fish” portion of the road map, specifically the "reeling" part. Remember to be sure that you're using a 10 lbs line. The lure you choose won't affect the trophy, but you should obviously use one that's effective to catching sturgeons.

A steamy trophy, firstly, because river sturgeon weigh at least 20 kilograms each, and they tear a line with a gap of 4.5 kg like no damn thing, and this is also a tournament of the season of legends, where rivals are already good at fishing, and can overtake you at any moment in the standings, which can’t be said about previous seasons. The only good thing is that you don’t need to be in the top place, but in the top 5, which makes the task a little easier.

Try to cast not very far (because while you are pulling the fish from afar, 80% of the time it will escape), and if you cast at 7-10 meters, then the fish, having grabbed the bait, will immediately swim away from you 10-15 meters. 3 sturgeon of 20 kg each should provide you with 3-4 place in the tournament
