Lake Challenge Help

90 % of the challenge are easy but here are some tips that I learned (the hard way) that may help.

-------------
Fish catching challenges:

Monster fish can be caught multiple times [although they will move around to different spots]
Monster fish count as a different species [even if they are not] in challenges where you have to catch 5 different species.

The season and time of day affect the type of fish available to catch. If you need to catch a fish less than 5 pounds, check to make sure they are available. If you have stripped bass, large catfish etc, catching a small fish will be harder. Restart these challenges with different settings. [See Monster guide for help]

The Lake Mead challenge to catch a fish in all the fishing spots. Do NOT do this challenge at noon. There are 26 spots at noon but only 18 in the morning and evening! Also FIND ALL THE SPOTS before you start the challenge, this will help when time runs short. After many attempts I did this in the evening and finished with 12 minutes to spare!

Generally I found MUCH better fishing near the shore than the middle of the lake.

---------------
Casting Challenges;

The ones that require you to cast 5 times consecutively (without missing):
If you know your cast is going to miss, quickly hit B before the lure lands. This will avoid starting over.

Hit the Rings:
Make sure you select the longest casting rod, reel and large lure [this helped me with the distance ones]
On the far rings, line the tip of the rod just to the outside right of the casting circle, then cast.

A tip for the Lake Mead challenge to catch a fish in all the spots. Like was stated in the solution do this in either the morning or evening definitely not at noon. What I found was best was to go to the Fish-O-Pedia, get a good look at the Lake Mead map and draw it out on a piece of paper. Drive around the lake to uncover all 18 spots and mark them on your paper map then number them. Using this method I got it on my first try after three earlier failed attempts.

All of the trophies that reference this one will unlock in your quest to unlock this one. In particular, there are many challenges that have you fulfill specific trophy requirements. So, you’ll get those along the way.

This trophy is the real time sink in this game. It stinks because there are many challenges that have overlapping requirements (e.g. “catch 20 fish” and “catch 20 fish of the same species”), but you have to complete them independently. It’s also pretty annoying that you have to drive your boat to each challenge location, but the challenge locations aren’t marked on your radar. So, you’ll often have to a little searching. On the plus side, 90% of the challenges are extremely easy. However, there are some that are tougher because they have very specific requirements on the type or weight of the fish that need to be caught and this can boil down to a little luck.

There is one challenge worth singling out though and that is the “Bass Fight!” challenge on Lake Lanier. This challenge reads: “Catch a world record Largemouth Bass (over 22lbs 4oz)”. However, I found the description extremely misleading. You do not need to catch a fish larger than 22 lbs 4 oz. I don’t know what the minimum weight is, but after about 1.5 hours of searching for a record largemouth bass, I said “screw it” and caught the largest one I could find and managed to complete the challenge with a 16 lbs fish.

One last remark, there is a monster fish challenge for each lake, and moreover, many of the remaining challenges will be made easier if you hunt a monster fish (e.g. challenges that require you to catch a certain weight in fish). As such, you may want to refer to the monster fish guide periodically while completing your challenges. Here is a link.

One of the longest, tedious and hemorrhagic trophies. In principle, there are no particularly difficult competitions, but still, there are several that can cause difficulties, namely:

Lake Lanier

Marksman [No Time Limit]
Hit the casting ring after it has shrunk below 30 inches

The point of this competition is to get into the casting ring when it shrinks to 30 inches. To do this, get ready to cast and hold down , hold it until the ring shrinks to the size until it turns red, when it turns red, it means it has become 30 inches in size, that's when you need to throw the bait into this ring.

5 Perfect Pitch Casts [4:00]
Perform 5 consecutive perfect casts by using pitch cast

To make a pitch cast, you need to throw not over your shoulder, as in the overshoulder cast (hence the name), but, on the contrary, as if from yourself. In general, it’s better to see it once: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20WyJFqPbgo

Lake Casitas

Even Catches [No Time Limit]
Out of ten fish total, only catch even numbered fish while cutting the line on odd numbered hooked fish.

Everything is simple here, you need to catch 10 fish, but take only even ones, and when the fish is odd, press .

Also, there are competitions where you need to catch a fish in a given weight category, usually very narrow, so in order not to waste time pulling it out, the exact weight of the fish will be written in the lower left corner, this will save a lot of time, you don’t need to pull the fish out and only then find out the weight , I personally learned about this much later.
