You need to kill enemies whenever Mr. Zurkon is out, get in the habit of using him when a lot of enemies are around.

A great place to farm is on the N.E.S.T. level, during the Entrance segment!

You cannot summon two Mr. Zurkons at once. Therefore, I give you advice: if you see a green field replenishing ammunition, and you have an unused Mr. Zurkon, call him before you take the ammo.
