If you start playing on the difficulty level for beginners, then you need to go to the game settings and turn on the destructibility of weapons in the difficulty setting. You need to have 3 broken weapons in your characters' inventories; do not permanently repair anything until the trophy drops. After you receive the trophy, you can turn this item back off with a clear conscience.
