How to unlock the Cunning achievement in Realms of Arkania: Star Trail - Definitive Guide
IMPORTANT: You cannot earn this achievement and the "Secretive" achievement in the same playthrough unless you make a save beforehand. Make your save before approaching the keep.
Before traveling to the quest location (Finsterkoppen), make sure to have at least one elf in your party with the ability to shapeshift. It’s the Transform abilities under magic. The goal of the achievement is to disguise your elf character (by either making them invisible or turning them into something else) in order to pass through Finsterkopp Pit. It needs to be an elf specifically, as this is the only race that they will refuse passage to.
The Pit is located pretty far south on the map. You’ll need to travel quite a distance from the starting city. But once you find it (should be near the center of the lower forest), travel to the back of the city till you reach the Pit. It looks just like the entrance to a castle so you can’t miss it. Then, have your elf cast a disguise on themself (I used the spell that transformed mine into a wolf) and then try to enter the Pit. If the spell worked properly, it will unlock the achievement.
