How to unlock the Evil Spirits achievement in Red Dead Redemption - Definitive Guide

Tumbleweed Hideout: America
Mission requirement: New Friends, Old Problems
Objective: Help the Sheriff kill all the criminals
Reward: Winchester Repeater

Tesoro Azul Hideout: Mexico
Mission requirement: The Demon Drink
Objective: Kill the Criminals and save the deputy/sheriff
Reward: Double Action Revolver

These are initiated when you come across the area while bandits are there simply kill everyone that's trying to kill you and save whoever you are supposed to.

Here is a map if you didn't buy the game. if you did then the areas marked with "danger" are the hideouts.

Note if you finish all the hideouts in the US within 24 hours game time you will unlock the Marshal's outfit.

dunno y this got a negative, it was much better than one of the other Hideout cheevo guides, thumbs up from me!

Yes you do indeed need all 9 outfits for 100% completion.

maybe it's just me, but i did all the american hideouts within 24 game time hours, and no outfit, i have read elsewhere that 'the last enemy that shall be destroyed' mission needs to be done within 24 game time hours, and then it's unlocked, can anyone confirm please?

i can't get this because when i go to tesoro azul nothing happens like in other hideouts so idk what im doing wrong

You may need to complete some of the story missions in Mexico first. But sometimes when you ride up on a gang hideout it will say that the bandits are not currently there and you have to come back later. I would try to sleep at a safe house or campsite nearby and fast travel there until you can wipe those suckers out.

Might want to mention how to unlock Mexico. I completed all of Irish missions to unlock it.

If you check your outfits from the start menu it will tell you if you have even discovered the outfit. In order to "discover" the outfit I think you need to complete the game or complete all the hideouts at least once, but take as long as you want. Only the gang hideouts need to be completed in 24 hours. Each one should take you no more than 6 minutes even less if you've done them before. so around 15-20 minutes real time.

Completing the following hideouts will unlock this achievement.

Tumbleweed Hideout:
Requirement: New Friends, Old Problems
Objective: Kill the Criminals
Reward: Winchester Repeater

Tesoro Azul Hideout:
Requirement: The Demon Drink
Objective: Kill the Criminals
Reward: Double Action Revolver

You will have to complete every hideout in Single Player, online does not count. Usually the task is to clear out bandits from the hideout so make sure you are well stocked for ammo. Tumbleweed is located in New Austin and Tesoro Azul is in Mexico. They only unlock by completing specific story missions. The requirements are as follows.

  • Tumbleweed - Complete "New Friends, Old Problems".
  • Tesoro Azul - Complete "The Demon Drink".
