How to unlock the Bullseye achievement in Red Dead Redemption - Definitive Guide

Easily done. All you need to do is auto-aim then move the right thumbstick up a little. I found it best to aim a little higher on the head. You can also use dead-eye targeting to easily get many of these. You should get this before the end of the story. what you get in multiplayer also counts towards this

Note courtesy of Curtieson: Pause -> Stats -> Combat -> Headshots - that is useful

Also, this is 10x easier now with the new DLC. There are 100+ NPCs coming at you, most come from a long ways away. I played "The River" maybe 4 or 5 times and got it...the NPCs just line up on the river bank WAITING to be shot!

BONUS: If you can manage to shoot off an enemy's hat without causing them any damage you will unlock a sombrero for you avatar. Try aiming just above the hat and you should get it in just a few tries.

Again thank you to Curtieson for the helpful additions.

No problem!

Now that I have cleared the DLC on Expert Targeting...my comment sounded just silly as The River was SUCH a pain! So to clarify for others, make sure you go for this with the Auto-Aim assist on.

It's an incredibly easy achievement. If you just simply play the game you will have no problems.

I think yours looks to be the best one...add the one off bits of information from the others to yours and give credit...

They key to this achievement is deadeye. Just try to take every shot you take with dead eye(click the right stick while aiming with the LT). Towards the second half of the game, you have plenty of money, so just keep stocked up on moonshine, tobacco, and snake oil to refill your dead eye meter when it depletes. Also note that once you have reached level 10 in the sharpshooter challenge, your dead eye meter gets replenished by killing enemies, so it becomes much easier to have dead eye available(note it only replenishes for kills gotten WITHOUT deadeye)

I played through the entire original game first and then started the Undead Nightmare DLC. If you have the DLC, when the casual aiming is on in the options menu, the auto-target automatically focuses on the head of the targeted zombie. You can rack up headshots very quickly.

All single player and multiplayer kills count towards this achievement. You will need to earn kills online or offline, they do not stack towards the same same statistics.

This may come naturally to some players, but not so much to other players. The easiest way to earn headshots is to use your dead eye and aim for the head. This way there is no way you can miss. To use dead eye click in your and the screen will change colour and slow everything down. This will give you time to line up your shots.

Use Dead Eye to make headshots easier and buy lots of chewing tobacco if needed. Get 250 headshots and the trophy is yours. The best way to farm kills is by clearing Hideouts.
