+1 this is the most reliable and easiest way to get it.
did it like in the chievo and got it easy.
little extra hint: bunker up in your safehouse room in the armadillo saloon and you won't get killed so easily. when only 1-2 sheriffs are left, you can go out to kill them and do like the video sais.

by far the best and easiest way to get this achievement.
also when you get to the place in the video, set a waypoint for macfarlanes ranch and got the cheev for using a pardon letter to pay off a $5000 bounty

Yeah I was having serious thoughts about skipping this cheevo but that made it look super easy. Just as a side not if you did the "Friends in high places" achievement and took cover in the doctors office this looks just like that. Take cover in there and let the officers come to you instead of running around town and possibly getting surrounded and killed. Once they stop coming just jet on out.

This worked perfectly. Just like the guy in the video stated. I tried riding around first to ge them to spawn and I was having no luck. So i reloaded and traveled to the point this guy said to try and they popped immediately after I zoned to the spot. Much easier than the method of riding around.

As the above comment states, you DO NOT need to fast travel to the location mentioned in the video. After killing all 20 lawmen in Armadillo, all you need to do is save your game via the bed in your room. Once it’s done saving and you return to the game, the Marshals will be waiting!

I know it’s 2022 but the best way is to kill all the lawmen in armadillo then sleep and save your game in the bedroom above the saloon if you wake up with a big red WANTED get in your horse and lose them. Like losing the cops in GTA V. Ez achievement.

I killed the lawmen in armadillo from the doctors office, got a bounty of $600, saved my game, when it came back after saving marshals were after me, so I called my Hungarian horse and rode off out of armadillo. No fast traveling east or anything like that.

@JulianHdxz it might be 2022 but there's definitely still people completing this masterpiece, either because like me they didn't care when they originally played it or newcomers that never played the first one on release but after playing RDR2 are checking out where it all started, anyway a long story to say thanks for tip, it worked just fine & I might add that the game had spawned the wrong horse even though I before saving has used the deed to get the Hungarian Half-breed it wasn't the one that came when I whistled so had to reload & the Marshalls came every time I did just had to wait a few minutes unlike when I saved where the red circle spawned pretty much immediately after waking 🤠🐎

Just read the others. Didnt like them. Here is how I did it. Get a bounty. Escape that bounty. Go save your game. You should get a message saying the marshals are after you. If not, save again. Repeat. When you get the message after however many saves. (+6 hours to your time each) Jump on the Hungarian and escape.

This worked for me as well! I cleared out the first wave of lawmen and then saved my game. After the first save I got the message that the U.S Marshalls were after me. But they were really far away. So I jumped on the horse and ran out of the red circle in no time and got the achievement.

I think the number of times you have to save the game before the message comes up depends on how high your fame/honor is. At higher honor levels you aren't pursued as relentlessly as you are at lower levels... I think marshals are sent after you once ever 24 hours regularly but on higher honor it's ever 48 hours.

I will try the method and give it a postive vote if it works, but the opening sentences of this solution are unnecessarily negative and I think that's why it has annoyed some people.

You didn't need to start the post with your opinion of the other solutions. The mere fact that you are posting your own solution already lets people know that you think yours is the best way of doing it so there's no need for it.

Took a lot of hours pushed on to get this. I ended up getting over 2000 on my bounty for them to finally come after me. You don't have to save. You can go into save then cancel it to move time on. I had almost full honor when starting this so took some time

By CANNIBAL 91 on 31 May 2010 23:57
Brilliant, worked very first time.

Might I add that if you want to get a bounty and lose it very easily, hide in your save room in Armadillo, crouch down in between the armoire and your bed and just cap anyone coming in through the doors, after a while, lawmen stop appearing so you can let the wanted time tick away before saving.

I also took off my bandana and and killed about 5 lawmen to get my honor rating down from "hero" to "peacemaker" when I went back in to town from trying this at my camp which I think, as DeafAthiest pointed out, reduces the time before marshalls are sent after you.

I agree, I just went through the other guides and also did not like them. But my bounty is at 7,250. I've gone through Armadillo now 4 times. Probably killed over 150 people there. I was in Blackwater killing horses and people before that just for fun. And I have been saving and wandering in the wilderness for 14 days (gametime). Where are these marshalls?

I too had trouble getting the marshals to track me with this method, even after saving multiple times, continually going back to armadillo to kill lawmen (20+ total) and with a high bounty. Taking a prompt from splicegraph's solution, I plotted a waypoint into Mexico and started riding in that direction. May be a coincidence but I got the "marshall on your trail" message almost immediately after heading south.

Ok, I figured out the problem some of us are having. The guide needs the following added:

"The marshalls will not appear if you are wearing the U.S. Marshall outfit."

I was having the same problem Tarvish was--$7,000 bounty and no marshalls were appearing. I looked at Marston, saw the outfit, and said to myself, "I wonder if the U.S. Marshall outfit gives me immunity to marshalls appearing?" I went to my save house, changed outfits, and the window instantly popped up and told me the marshalls were after me.

This worked for me. I went into Armadillo and got the 20 law officer kills. I tried to get the Marshalls after me using the advice in the video, but it didn't work, probably because my honor was maxed high. I set up camp and saved 3 times and the Marshalls found me. Based on the other comments and my own expericence, I think this method may be the best one when your honor is very high.

This method worked for me, but only after I started entering the save menu from one of my safehouses (I used the one in armadillo). I tried entering the save menu from a camp a little outside of town over and over and I would never get any message but sometimes when I would place my camp and be on the screen where it asks if you want to "travel" "change outfit" "save" etc, It would say WANTED in red with my bounty under it on THAT screen which makes me think it was registering the bounty hunters/marshalls triggering while I was on that screen, and I even tried waiting 10-15 seconds in between camps and that same thing kept happening till I swapped to entering and exiting save screen from my bed in Armadillo.

I got this with the Friends in High Places achievement. I made a save before I used my pardon letter and then rode out of town. I had a deed for the Hungarian Halfbred and I called it. i had a $600 bounty and did they save 15 times in a row and nothing then i took off for Mexico and it said bounty hunters were after me i got to Mexico safe and still nothing. So i went back to armadillo and they had some more lawmen so i celled all of them again and this time i had a bounty of 1100. I saves 16 times in a row again. Making a total of 31 saves. I went maybe 300 yards outside of town used a camp site and traveled to armadillo again. killed every lawmen again went back to the save house and right after i saved it had the screen go read and had more lawmen after me so i got on my ride and went to the edge of armadillo and as soon as i hit one foot out of town the marshals were after me. then i just went to fort mercer and by the time i was at the hill the achievement popped. I hope this helps someone else who had the same problem i did. Over all a good guide though. if i didn’t save so many times and just ran out of town and then traveled back in i would have gotten this in 5 mins max.

Busy Rich is right, I was immedietely inclined to negative/ignore this because of the arrogant way it's worded.

But as one should, I decided to give it a shot before I did so. As someone else mentioned - piddling bounties and petty crimes will not turn the eye of the man in black. After rolling up my sleeves and getting down to some real murder, the marshals message showed up and, sure enough, I easily evaded them for the points. Positive votes for you, sir.

However, I do suggest you update this solution. Maybe include some more information (how to acquire said 'White Bronco' for example)

Oh, and another useful bit of info to include, the wording of the 'US Marshal messages' that people should be looking out for. I think it was something like "Cause enough trouble and you'll turn the eye of the big dogs - the mexican army or the US Marshals" followed by "A group of US Marshals has picked up your trail" and a sudden wanted state.

For this achievement:

U.S. Marshals have a 20% chance to spawn every 30-40 minutes (real-time) after having killed 20 law officers on your active bounty. Every law officer kill after that increases their chance of spawning by 5%. You must be in the wilderness for them to come after you.

The Hungarian Half-Bred can be found only in Mexico. Try looking near Mesa de la Luna, as you have to find one there for the Stranger mission "Love Is the Opiate." Once you have broken the horse, buy the deed from a general store and use it so you can always call it to you.

To successfully escape the marshals for this achievement, you have 3 options:
1. Kill the Marshals (they are good shots, be careful)
2. Escape from them, anywhere works
3. Get into Mexico (they have no jurisdiction and won't pursue)

Just get your law officer kills and ride through the wilderness, and eventually a message saying "U.S. Marshals have tracked you down" or something of the sort will appear. Sometimes the message will not appear, but if you see a group of 4 officers and your kills are over 20, they're probably marshals. Successfully pull off one of the options and bam, achievement!
Good luck! :)

No solution is the best way to go about this. The absolute easiest way to get this achievement is to go to your safe house in chuparosa and kill enough people for a $1,000 + (they will mostly be lawmen as civilians run away) bounty and then go to bed. when you wake up it will say that the mexican army has found you. for me it was a lone soldier and all i did was hop on my horse, killed him and achievement unlocked. so you don't have to be in u.s., or in the wilderness, or escape. took me 5 minutes.

You don't have to be in the wilderness. I am standing in my house in Armadillo, waiting for my dead eye to regenerate and BOOM the US Marshals are in town. So I have to find a way to get to my horse without dying, YEAH!

I got said message about the marshals coming after me after I entered the US from Mexico. The the achievement popped. What's strange is its supposed to pop when I entered Mexico but it did not. so I saved in Mexico, restaterd the game and went back into the US for it to work. Just a heads up for those having trouble here like me.

This achievement is really straight forward. Just follow this video from achievement hunter and you will get it no problem at all. If you have already purchased or broke the hungarian half bred, you can skip the first minute or so

This achievement is "Heading South on a White Bronco", to unlock it, you must escape pursuit from US Marshals on a Hungarian Half-Bred.

The Hungarian Half-Bred is a white horse with a gray muzzle that you can find in Mexico. Once you break one, I highly suggest buying the deed to the horse just in case the horse is killed trying to escape.

Once you rack up 250+ murders, or gain a bounty of $5000+ (in the US), you will receive a message that you are being pursued by the US Marshals. After that, call your horse, making sure it is the Hungarian Half-Bred, and escape.

I suggest combining this achievement with "Friends in High Places". Once you evade capture, head to the nearest post office and use a Pardon Letter.

The easiest way to get this is get a 1,000+ Bounty while riding the white bronco, evade the cops. Then once u see the marshals(group of 4) stay far enough away so they can't hit you & just kill them. A bit of advice make sure you use a mid-range weapon like the Evans Repeater.
(This is how I got it).

While the achievement says single player it also can be obtained in Free Roam. A friend and I were trying to get the Most Wanted achievement in Escuela. When we both hit over 1,000 bounty I whistled for my horse which was currently the Hungarian Half-Bred so my friend could use a faster horse to get away. I whistled again for my Horse and we fled together and ended up getting the achievement.

This solution saves you time from finding the horse. However if you don't plan on leveling the solutions above will work just fine.

The Hungarian Half-Bred mount is unlocked at level 33.

There are a number of ways to pop this achievement, but there are three 3 things that are required: (A) the US Marshals have been notified of your criminal behavior and are after you, (B) you are riding the Hungarian Half-Bred in a southern direction, and (C) you loose your wanted alert while doing so.

I got this after having the US Marshals after me in Armadillo, and I headed toward Coot's Chapel with three Marshals after me. I turned around when I reached the edge of the alert circle and sniped them from a distance which immediately lost my alert. The achievement popped a split second afterward.

So I read all the above and tried them all with no achievement. I deciced that the most law enforcement would come out of Blackwater, so I sat on the Hungarian Half-Bred on the grassy hill where the railroad tracks curve exiting Blackwater. I built up a $5,200 bounty just shooting law enforcement and civilians. The bounty would build up and law enforcement would come. I'd kill them off and the bounty would fade out. I shot civilians and horses to get the bounty attention again. If you have the Explosive Rifle, take the train out at the bend(right next to you). this provides cover from the right. Three shots to the engine will stop the train.

Attempt this at the same time as going for the Friends in High Places trophy.

First things first, you need to get the Hungarian Half-Bred horse which can be found in the Diez Coronas area. It's bigger than most horses and is all grey. When you get this horse make sure it's your main horse by hitching it or buying the deed for it. You will also need to have US Marshals after you and you have to kill at least least 20 sheriffs to make them appear. If you're attempting this at the same time as getting the $5000 bounty then chances are you will get the rare evil black horse that is given to you for having low Honor, use the deed of a Hungarian Half-Breed and flee the area. To make this easier, kill every US Marshal but have one alive and chasing you. As soon as you escape, the trophy will unlock.

1. Get the hungarian half bred horse. You can purcharse it in general stores or break it in new mexico.
2. Get $1000 bounty.
3. Sleep.
4. When you awake you will receive a message of the marshals on a way to kill you (sleep again if theres no message).
5. Escape of the marshals with the new horse.
6. Achievement unlocked!

Before you start this you will need to break a Hungarian Half-Bred (white horse with a dark face). Once you have broken the horse you can then buy the deed for that specific horse, activate the deed from your satchel and you can call the horse you require.

If you don't want this to affect your current progress I suggest you save in one of the empty slots. Stock up on ammo and make your way to any town. You will now need to start killing law enforcement, after you have killed 20 law enforcers you can now leave town and lose your wanted level. You're now going to need to ride around for a while until a notice pops up on your screen telling you the US Marshals have found you. One this happens you need to outrun them and escape. Evading the Marshals won't be as easy compared to outlaws, law enforcement or posses as they are highly skilled.

You can evade them by either killing them or running and loosing your wanted level.

We need a White Mustang, also known as a Hungarian half-breed.

You can find him in Diez Coronas and saddle him, you can also buy him in Chuparosa for $750, Punta Orgullo for $750, Armadillo for $750.

I staged a shootout in Armadillo, killed everyone while shooting on the saloon balcony for $600, survived, woke up wanted again, ran out of the saloon, got on a White Mustang and raced away from the marshals as soon as WANTED passed and gave me the trophy.
